all season tires

I've done a lot of searching and there seems to be many different opinions. I'll need new tires (brakes n rotors too) before winter. Spending hours on tire rack reading reviews has become a pain. I want more of a high performance all season tire. I have a few that seem good and was wondering if anyone has them or heard if there good.

Michelin pilot sport a/s plus
Pirelli p zero a/s
Cooper zeon rs3-a
These 3 seemed the best with not much noise at higher speed. If anyone has other suggestions I would love to hear them.. Thanks

A lot of people have liked/recommended conti DWS for the all season needs. They are pricey but from what i hear work very well. I've also read a common issue with them, soft sidewalls. A lot of people stated the sidewall is really mushy and they tend to bubble out when hitting pot holes. Traction is great tho in snow and rain.

Im debating between going with a full winter tire like a firestone's winterforce or a all-season like Kumho 4x because i have AWD

Yeah I' saw those dws tires n they seem to be more winter tire than all season. They were $568 for the set. Not too bad in price.

The way I've heard it goes, with an all-season tire, it just means you get subpar performance all year round. Snow tires can be found on craigslist for cheap usually. Might be worth doing that and getting some summer type tires for the rest of the year.

With that said, I go live in the 3rd snowiest city in the United States and got around with some BFG all seasons on a subaru last winter. We got a bit over 200" of snow last winter. Although, people with just FWD and snow tires made it through as well.

Remember, AWD only helps when you are on the gas. When it comes to braking and steering, an AWD car is no better than a RWD car. Snow tires are what makes the difference here. And you being in NY, you probably get some snow.

I have General G-Max AS03s on my car, and like them alot. Took the car on a few vacation trips this summer and had no issues with road noise, and they handle awesome in the dry and rain. The tiny bit of snow they saw last year didn't give me any issues either. Just another option to consider for ya!

Continental ExtremeContact DWSes should be pretty nice. My sister just put these on her Civic and having driven her car before and after, I can say they are pretty nice. I think for everyday driving you should be fine with these.

If you want some pretty solid performance during the dry from an all-season, I was surprised with the Nitto NeoGen. 280 treadwear rating, reinforced sidewalls, and pretty quiet overall.

Yeah the reviews on the DWS tires seem great. I think I'll end up getting those.

DWS are like driving on marshmallows. Google the soft sidewall complaints. I sold mine after 2,000 miles.

Honestly though I wouldn't expect an all-season tire to have the stiffest sidewalls to begin with.

Yeah I'll end up getting them. I'm too lazy to get summer tires n have em changed all the time. I don't drive aggressively anyways so summer tires won't make a difference.

Probably would. Stiff, higher psi tires are what work in snow. Probably in rain too.

For those that didn't know, bump up your PSI a little bit when driving in the snow. It helps a lot.

A/S tires will be crap in the NY snow. I would still get a set of winter-specific tires. A set of high-perf all-seasons like some of the suggestions above are great for the other 3 seasons, I really like my BS RE970AS Poles, they are not soft at all and are phenomenal in the rain.

Just me, but I also would not get DWS.
