TPMS comes on after 15 mins drive on freeway
Hi guys I just bought a g35 coupe 2005 auto with premium package and 19" rim.
I notice that the tpms light turns on after 15 mins driving on freeway. It's not on right after I turn on engine, but on when I am driving on freeway.
Do you guys have any idea what's going on?
Thanks!!

Just the TPMS light... not the VDC/SLIP and other lights on the dash?
Are you driving with VDC off? I noticed that one time when I did a road trip to my buddies house in Maine (I live in Mass.), and I shut the VDC off for the trip. Almost exactly 150 miles into the trip (with tons of stop and go traffic for toll booths along the way), my TPS light came on indicating a tire pressure abnormality. I pulled over to the rest stop and looked at my tires, and everything was kosher. I shut the car off, and then turned it back on, and the TPS light was off and stayed off. I checked my tire pressure in all of my tires, and they were all about where you'd expect them to be after driving down the highway for such a long distance at speed in the summer (something like 38-40 PSI). I feel like our cars might have some built-in thing where if you drive for too long (either distance or time) with the VDC off, it will warn you by putting on the TPS warning. That's just a hypothesis though based on my one long drive with the VDC off. It could be that if you drive nonstop at freeway speeds for over 15 minutes the VDC light comes on, but I would think a lot of people here would probably have reported that by now.

did you check your tire pressure? Pressure changes with temperature and after 10-15 of driving your tires heat up from the constant contraction/expansion of the sidewall while driving. its possible the pressure is slightly off and is upsetting the sensor once you've been driving for a bit. just a suggestion. or the sensor is about to **** the bed. ive never been a fan of TPMS systems..
I have aftermarket wheels and didnt use tpms when i installed them. The light usually doesnt come on til like 20-30 mins later of driving without turning off the car. Could it be you dont have tpms installed?

If you read the manual, you will see that you must be driving over 25mph for the sensors to update. Sometimes, it just takes a while.
It is likely one of your tires is low and it took a bit of time to communicate that to the car. Check your tire pressure - even if the tires look fine, they can be low. Once you have confirmed your tire pressures are ok, then you can worry about a dying battery or sensor.

I just bought my car also and it started doing that as well after driving for a bit. After a week or so it would come on right when i turned the car on and it was blinking. From what Ive read on here that means one or all of the TPMS sensors are bad, so I'm assuming it was going bad and then just died...like Revo said any good shop can diagnose that. I'm working 60 hour weeks right now and don't have time to run by a shop so I cant confirm.

Does same thing. TPMS sensor, definitely not a low pressure tire issue. Mine eventually goes off after about a hundred miles fifty. Only goes on for trips over an hour. FWIW
I have an 04 g35 sedan with stock tires and wheels, my tpms randomly comes on after driving for at least 45 mins, I check my tp often and I know for sure the tires are fine, i think the sensors are just bad, and personally not worth the fix.
