Am i getting a deal on these 19" Volk SF-Challenges?
Hey guys... i'm new to the boards and i'm helping my bro fix up his G35 coupe that he just brought home from the dealers last saturday. To get to the point... he wants wheels. I've been helping him shop because he is always so busy and because he's also not too familiar with car tuning and the whole "motorsports" stuff.
Ok... he told me that one of his coworkers has connections with a wheel shop:
The deal is (2)19x10.5 and (2)19x9.5 Volk SF-Challenge (SILVER) with Nitto tires. Installed and mounted for $3200 out the door.
What do you guys think? Is he getting a steal, an okay deal, or basically paying what anyone else would be paying? All feedback is greatly appreciated. Oh and what do you guys think of these wheels on an pearl white '05 coupe?
Thanks,
Denny

He told me the guy quoted him for Nitto 555 Extremes. And if that tire fitment you told me is correct, then the guys are giving him the wrong tires. They said 245/35/19 for the front and the back is 275/30/19.
So what tires would work well? Toyo's, Bridgestones, Falkens? And what models of each brand, and what size would you guys recommend for these wheels?

There are some people running 275/30/19 rears but most use a 35 series. IMO it doesn't quite look right because the rear overall diameter will be slightly smaller than the front. You could also have some VDC issues. Its up to you if you want to run that size.
I would recommend either a staggered set-up of 245/35 front, 275/35 rear or else a 255/35 front, 285/35 rear. The second set probably would match the wheel widths better. I would recommend Toyo T1-S, Michelin Sport Pilots, Bridgestone S0-3's, Goodyear F1 GS-D3's, or BF Goodrich KDW2's. They are all available in either the first or second set of sizes I listed.
