Replace rear tires only?

Ladies and Gents,

Alrighty, I am suffering from rear-tire pattern baldness like many drivers here with a slightly heavy foot

I have 11,000 miles or so on the car, my plans are to get winter tires this coming september/october and put em on the factory 18in wheels. Next spring I plan for all new tires/wheels.

Until then, what do ya'll think of buying just a set of rear Michelin Pilot Sports for this summer? I feel my fronts have plenty of tread, and don't see the point in buying 4 new tires before wheel replacement.

Why replace the front's if they don't need replacement? Frankly with the rear wear rate being what it is, sound like by the time the new rear's wear out, you'll need new front's at that point. By all means go ahead and just buy rear tires.

I replaced just the rears on mine, so it should not be a problem....except for the $600 price tag.

dont waste your money on Michelin Pilot sports of you plan on replacing all 4 eventually. buy some Kumho MX's. they are amazing tires, plus theyre much cheaper than the michelins.
