275-40-18 stock rims... Yes it fits and i love them

Just put on 275 40 18 on my stock 18 inch rims they fit perfectly fine for all of you that are wondering, no rubbing and no understeer as long as you have a heavy foot. Now i can spray right off the line without spinning. So if anyone has been looking for information about this wide of a tire fitting on stock rims here it is. ill put up pictures to show how they really dont look abnormal at all i like the look 10x's better than stock and the look from the rear makes people question what i have in the car. And if anyone is looking for a CHEAPER tire than a kumho with same performance get what i have
AVON MTECH 500 summer tires, might not be as sticky as the kumho mx but deeper tread, great rain performance and longer life will make you want them... Just thought i should share...Later

Which OEM 18's did you put these on? The coupe wheels? And did you put them on all four corners?

I'm surprised you found an installer that would install them. Installers that I know, would not accept that kind of liability. Those tires are much too side for the stock wheel. I have them on the back of my coupe on 9.5" wide wheels, so I know how they should look and perform. You know, of course, you have no warranty on those tires because you're not following the manufacturer's recommendations.

But to each his own. To others, I would not do this, the risk far outweighs the "look".

275 40 are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too wide for the stock rim, this is a safety issue

i know a few people who have done the same.. putting 275s on the OEM 18"s, but this is definitely a big no-no safety wise.. any installer who is willing to put this on the OEM wheels should not be in the tire business.. although it will work, it doesn't look good at all AND it is extremely dangerous.. 9.5 is the correct width to handle 275.. i would go back to the stock size OR just buy wider rims.. my statements and the previous statements in this post aren't opinions, they are facts..

Not a very good idea. I would take it easy with those tires on there.

Carter Thompson drove a 350z, placing 6th at nationals in 2003 (behind all the S2Ks) He ran Hoosiers 275 front and rear on 17" sized wheels (7.5" front, 8" rear)). Carter's car has more sidewall height to deflect since he had 17's and will see greater side stress level's then will ever be seen on the street. Now,..........would anyone in the same circumstance be better off performance wise with 9.5" wide rims, heck yes. That is the real issue to bring up. But if you know this and don't have 9.5" rim money, then have at it, even though it's not something I would do in the end.
