need brake pads

i got an 04 so i got the brembos. my friend who works at a shop told me im going to need new pads soon. so i called infiniti and they told me to bring it in to the dealership because they have a "special" machine that cuts the pads to fit perfectly. does anyone know if thats true or not? or are they just ****in with me? cuz i want to take it to my friends shop cuz i know it would most likely be cheaper. anyone here with brembos have to change their pads yet? and where did you go to do them?.need advice please thanks

the dealership is going to charge you an arm and a leg. there is nothing special that needs to be done, its like any other pad. ditto on the project mu NS.

dealer wanted to charge me 1900 +++ to replace all pads, front rotors, and to turn the rear rotors. i bought hawk pads (185 shipped for all 4 wheels) and slotted brembo rotor for the front for 375 shipped. i am having a shop turn the rear rotors tuesday and put on new pads - $50. my brother and i replaced the front pads/rotors today in my driveway, once you get the hang of the brembos set up it is pretty easy. dont belive the bs!
