Spring and shock install complete!

I finished my first spring/shock install this weekend. After reading countless posts, I went with RS-R Ti springs and Tokico D-Specs both for 350z. The install was a great learning experience and I really enjoyed doing it myself. I have to thank kenchan and Gsedan35 for their quick responses to my PMs and for their extremely helpful and valuable posts on this subject in the past.

So far, I have to say I'm completely satisfied with the drop it gave me (about 1" in front and 3/4" in back) and even more the improvement in ride and handling. It's a little firmer than stock, but not harsh at all. I'm running 4 turns from full hard in front and rear. It feels very much like my friend's 330ci and handles even better IMO.

Here are some pics of the install as well as before and after pics of the fender well gaps.

Here is the actual drop I got which I calculated by measuring three different areas on each wheel. I'll be re-measuring after a couple weeks to see if any settling occurs as well as getting an alignment.

Front left: 1 1/16"
Front right: 1 1/16"
Rear left: 3/4"
Rear right: 5/8"

wingnut- you did it! good job.

Looks good too. it's kinda funny you mentioned 330CI.... cause my buddy
has one of those and i was basing my car's setup to that car too.
my car's got more lux ride but at the limit handling i think it can whip the
330's butt.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. I totally agree that this forum for the most part consists of really cool people that share a common interest and are more than happy to help fellow enthusiasts get the most out of their cars. I couldn't have done this without their help.

Ken - yeah, I always loved my buddy's 330ci's handling and that's pretty much what I was striving for, and now I think I've nailed it. I might consider some sways in the future, but for now, it's pretty close to where I want it.

That is a setup I would like to do if I don't go with the Tein CS. Did you get a package deal and what did they run? How bout your camber?

No package deal. Just bought the parts individually from Performance Nissan Parts. It was just under $900 for the springs and shocks together. I haven't had the car aligned yet, but I'm expecting a little more negative camber than I already had from factory. Since the drop was only about an inch in front and 3/4" in rear, I'm hoping that the rears can be adjusted back to spec or close to it and that the fronts will still be ok. If not, look at getting some adjustable camber arms and toe bolts if it's way off.

I think the only sockets I used were 12mm and 17mm. My lugs are Axis lugs that require a special 'tool' much like a wheel lock key to get them off. The only 19mm I remember was the spring compressor and I used a box wrench for that.
