performance winter tire question ... dunlop M3 vs. Blizzak LM-22

The reason I am having this poll is because tirerack sort of messed up with my order. I have been waiting almost 4 weeks already for my wheels and tires to ship... and they keep pushing it out by a week, every week... now the date is 12/19 ship date and that too is tentative. I have ordered the Dunlop M3s but they are waiting on 2 tires... but in their defense they have been pretty helpful with the order, they claim that the order is stuck with customs and its Dunlop's fault... so I am giving them the benefit of the doubt.

I am thinking of changing the dunlops to the blizzak LM-22. However before I do I would rather get a poll from you guys.
I am aware that the dunlop M3s are rated no.1 and LM-22 at no.3 on tire rack survey... but what are your opinions.

please let me know.
thx.

Oops I messed up with the Poll... called both of them M3s... obviously the Blizzaks should read LM-22s instead of M3s. And can't figure out how to edit the poll...

Where do you live? Any time constraint on getting the tires (like a snow storm)?

If not, I'd wait it out, otherwise I'd grab what you can, and LM-22's will def do the job

I just put on the M3s (225/45/18 and 145/45/18) and they are pretty nice. They are a bit less responsive in turns, but that is to be expected and they do handle reasonably well. The tread on these things looks mean as hell! I would def. recommend them since they are one of the only tires that comes in our stock size.

I put Hankook Ice Bears on our Z and I actually have to say that these tires are superior to the M3s for less cost. The only problem is that they do not have 225/45/18 in that tire, but they do have 245/45/18 and 235/40/18 which would probably work just fine. They are a bit stiffer than the M3s and handle better at a lower cost. They also have a very impressive tread pattern.

I have the M3's as well but with the 17'' setup, 225s all around and its working great so far. We've had about 5-6 snow storms already and they handle very well, no tail waggle or getting stuck in my driveway. Just remember you still drive RWD sports car so dont get too cocky like these SUV @ssholes.

It has taken weeks?? It took tirerack only 3 business days to deliver my wheel/tire set. I got the Dunlop M3's and have tested them in the snow. They are great and am very happy with my choice.

Two friends of mine hav blizzack LM22's. One has a G35c and the other has a 330ci...both of them say that it has ridiculously good traction in the snow. The dunlops from what i hear are amazing as well so just go with the best price you can find

I'm very happy with my LM-22's. 2nd season, no need for me to try anything else, great traction

I have the dunlops and loved them every bit... The last storm we had dumped 5" and I had no trouble going through unplowed streets. The thread pattern looks like " huge teeths ready to bite". Good luck

I was in the same dilemma. My Dunlop M3s were on backorder for a couple of months. I finally gave in and took the Blizzak LM22s... I didn't want to be caught without snow tires when the first storm passed. Overall, I think the 2 are fairly comparable, and either will do just fine. Since I've never had the M3s, I can only compare the LM22s to the Pilot Alpins I used to have. They both do well in a little snow and cold weather.

It seems that whoever has Blizzaks loves them; and, however has Dunlops, loves them as well. Probably indicates that they are both good tires - get the cheapest. I have the LM-22's, and, well, I love them.
