BRAKE PADS WITH LESS DUST??

i have an automatic coupe, and of course you are going to be using your brakes more than the manual coupe even when you are in manumatic mode, but i was wondering if there is a brake pad that dosen't have as much brake dust as these stock do? plus i was wondering if anyone out there has the unorthodox pulleys, are they worth it, if so where did you get them.

There are some pads specially made for minimal brake dust...EBC Green pads or something like that I think.

You could try Hawk HPS from www.tirerack.com.

If you change your brake pads, most likely your dealer will void any warranty work on your brakes.

Bocatrip, I didn't think brakes were under warranty. So, why worry about dealer warranty. Am I missing something?

brakes are a wear and tear item and wont be covered under warranty. same applies to clutches.

It's the stuff that ends up making your wheels look dirty. It's been very difficult trying to keep my wheels clean. I'll definitely get something that gives off less brake dust, when it's time to replace my pads.

It’s that powdery looking stuff that you see on the outside of the rims, it develops from the friction caused between the caliper and the disc brakes.

Zorro, What I was referring to was anything at all related to a brake issue, such as calipers, rotors, or any brake failure. The dealer will always try to weasel their way out of any responsibility once they decide you have not used dealer approved parts.

Re: BRAKE PADS WITH LESS DUST??

Actually they cant void the warranty becuuse you used a non OEM part for a wear part. There are specific laws and court cases that cover this. As long as the replacement part meets OEM specs you dont have to use the OEM part. I dont feel like finding the laws in question but trust me on this.

Re: BRAKE PADS WITH LESS DUST??

Correct. The only way they can require you to use their specific parts for wear items (brake pads, rotors, oil filters, etc.) is if they make the parts available to you free of charge.

Re: BRAKE PADS WITH LESS DUST??

I am having good luck with the Stillen Metal Matrix pads. I am only at 200 miles on them but wheels are still clean. PM me next week and I wll let you know how it is doing

braking is as good or a smidge better, dust is less, and they cost less than stock

should work for non brembo coupes, stillen has part numbers;
