Issue with window reset
hey guys,
I just installed a new driver side window motor and am at the point where I have to do the reset. I have followed the instructions I found on the infinitihelp site (with door open roll all the way up, close door, hold reset button and roll window all the way down, release reset, roll window all the way back up, open door), however, it doesn't seem to be working.
when I open the door the window rolls down a bit (more than normal though), and when I close the door, the window does not go back up on its own. each time you open the door, it keeps going down a little bit further, and never goes back up any when closing the door back. to get it to go back up all the way you have to roll it all the way back down and then back up. the auto-up feature is also not working. however, the auto-down does work.
again, I have tried doing the reset several times, and it doesn't seem to change anything. any ideas?

Something interesting I just noticed. The instructions I was following on infinitihelp say:
Project: Power Window Reset Procedure
Models: 2003-2005 G35 Coupe
http://www.infinitihelp.com/diy/gcou..._procedure.htm
Is the procedure different for a 2006 coupe (what I have)?

I took the reset button apart. It seems like the button just puts pressure on a sliding plate to stop it from rotating when the window goes up and down. I held it in place manually with a screw driver to stop the plate from moving, which appears to be what the button is suppose to do, however, I am still getting the same results.
Any ideas? Is this motor bad? Any other way to do a reset?

I replaced the front piece (where the reset button is) of the new motor with the one from the old motor and reinstalled. Seems to be working now. New front piece must have been defective. I just hope that the old front piece isn't part of what was failing on the old motor.
