DIY: Installing TPMS on your aftermarket wheels.

Use this guide at your own risk. i'm not responsible for anything.

1) buy make a clamp kit.- stock # 4002 http://www.breezeclamps.com/makeaclamp.htm

cut to length

2) buy sheathing clips from home depot (picture 1)

bend it like in picture 1

3)route the band through the clip as show in picture 2

4) put on the tpms by discarding the valve cap and unscrewing the body cap, put the tip through the clip, and screw the body cap back on to secure as shown in picture 3

5) strap the tpms at the dip of the wheels as close as possible towards the center of the wheel on the inside as show in picture 4

optional- you can use double sided tape on the underside of the clamp all around the wheel as a "just in case" insurance.

done

This maybe a NOOB question, but how you can't take off the valve stem from the aftermaket wheels, and install the TPMS in its place?????????

it's been about 15k and decided to change the tires to a different brand. the tpms' are position like the way the day I put them on. Very solid! no issues! It's not going anywhere!

Excellent!!! Accordfreak do you have the materials? I think I read that you sell a "kit"... if so, please PM me for 19" rims... if you don’t have - can you tell me where to acquire locally (I don’t have time to order online - install is next week)...

Thanks

ocg35- sorry i tried to look at the local hardware stores but couldn't find any. you probably have to look at those specialty hardware stores. my extra kit was sold awhile back.

okay - thanks for the reply... Did you happen to look into a bracket when you decided to band it?... ttrank was telling me about a bracket that is mounted inside - I haven’t seen it, but the way I understood it is mounted on the back side of the stem and TPS attaches to the other side of bracket directed towards the center - inside of tire?...
