Especially those shown in less than desirable condition and with high miles
Traveling further out or spending more for one not on Craigslist is the smarter choice here

The cheaper you go, the more expensive issues you'll run down the road especially with how poorly those were maintained. Don't rush buying a car, take your time to acclimate yourself the market and see how it fluctuates. I spent months searching for my G and test driving at least 20 of them before making the purchase. If 10k is your limit, I would be looking for a different vehicle in general. Insurance is going to kill you with having a sports car and being that young. If this is your first car, then buy yourself a cheap car and learn how to properly maintain a vehicle...it's really the best way and will give you the confidence and knowledge when you can finally buy that sports car you've been saving for.

Seriously, for 84K miles, that car hasn't aged well. Paint issues, a seat that tore at 60K miles and transmission issues. It's an easy pass unless you got it for a deal....like $6-7K type of deal.
These cars are getting old, and onto the 3rd and 4th owners. Most are going to have issues and there is still demand for them by young, new driver's which is keeping the pricing artificially high.
If that car was a sedan, it would probably be listed for $6-7K and still not sell fast.

Don't be fooled with the 'low' mileage. Maintenance and treatment of the car is more important. Paint issues are fairly common on G-coupes, but that is pretty bad for an 06. If 5th Gear is grinding with only 85k miles, it was probably a driver that didn't know how to shift. Who knows what else is wrong with the tranny or engine.
Question for you, do you have $10k+ cash to spend on a used car, plus extra $ for repairs and maintenance?
