Finally got my Fast Intentions Catback (Vids)

Well after waiting a month for it to get here, and then a couple weeks before I could install it, I have been dying to put this on. But finally, my buddy and I decided to throw it on today. Everything bolted on perfectly, didn't break any stock bolts/hangars, and the new exhaust system went in smooth. The right tip ended up a little lower than the left though, so I may have to get down there and adjust it again.

I like the new tone. When I first started it up, I thought it sounded just like stock, but once I got to driving it around, I realized it hardly sounds stock. Idle-3k is very deep and kinda menacing (lol), then after 3k it starts to open up and roar. It's not too loud, but its loud enough when you get on it; people will know you're there. Also, no drone!

Like everyone else says, it pretty much amplifies the stock sound, just a little deeper and much louder. I'm not sure if I want HFCs yet, because it's pretty loud as is, but I fell in love with this exhaust when it was paired with HFCs. Regardless, this system is awesome, and is honestly the perfect sound for the G.

And thank you Tony, you were right when you said this would be the last exhaust I ever buy for this car

Sorry for the crappy shifts

Haha crappy shifts lol

Seriously bro, congrats on the new exhaust. Sounds awesome. How much did it set you back if you don't mind me asking?

Right now, I'm torn between a custom Magnaflow one or the F-I exhaust. I'm also listening to different sound clips but can't tell which one I like better.

I need to ride in someone's car locally with both exhausts to decipher the winner

Hey wanna make a road trip lol j/p

Sounds nice and mean! Do cat-backs add power or is it just for sound?

SCXR: They add power. I have seen a car with FI catback and HFC slightly pull a car with 5/16 spacer and Test Pipes. Both were 6spds with the same engine and no other performance mods. (Could be other factors at play, but thought it was interesting.) They have dynos on FI website.

OP: Just added the 300 cell HFC's a few months ago. Really sounds good and no regrets.

I got it during Fast Intentions' holiday sale for $1100 (its nonpolished SS). I have no regrets with it either; it was a great investment for my car.

idiosyncratic, try resetting your ECU. Normally it takes your ECU a couple hundred miles to adjust to your new breathing mods.

If you reset it after you add one of these mods, you cut down the time dramatically.

After I had my Berk HFCs installed earlier this past week, I finally got around to resetting my ECU 2 days ago.

At this moment, I've driven about 50 miles or so since and my car accelerates even better and is more responsive to the throttle than it was before I reset the ECU on Friday.

I'll reset the ECU tonight... I forgot to do it the last two nights lol. Maybe that will make it feel a little peppier, but if not I'm not really concerned, I bought a catback for sound, not power.

I don't think you need to reset the ECU due to a new exhaust. Resetting the ECU resets it to the original factory setting. Since the exhaust wasn't installed on the car new, the ECU will still have to "learn" the change in air flow - if any.

Congrats - very high quality, good sounding exhaust. I miss my FI exhaust. Should've never sold it in lieu of the evoTT... It was a little too loud for me, but was a nice tone; the evoTT is louder and sounds good from the outside, but it's not as pleasant sounding in the higher rpms like the FI exhaust is.

Anyway, MD exhaust is on deck.

rcdash, do you have any sound clips since of your exhaust setups with your TT setup? I'd love to hear any sound clips you may have with the JWT TT and Fast Intentions exhaust. If you have one with the EVO TT that would be cool too!

Thanks in advance
