Molding strip on hood is loose.

Guys,

The molding strips on the roof are loose. This suprises me. Is this a common thing on the G35 and what are some remedies??

^Does this signify quality issues with Infiniti in general?

I mean my dads Lexus and BMW never had these gay little problems. Heh, even my old WRX never had any build quality issues. BUT the turbo failed hence my animosity towards Subaru and their dealers. lol

This happened on the molding strip on his roof(outer) and one day at a somewhat high speed, it flew off. They quoted him some crazy number at the dealership so he said **** it.

Few weeks ago, I had dealer replace the seal. Service attendant said he's seen it before, so it is a common occcurance.

WOW. Can someone tell me what molding or strip this thread is about???

Illusion states: molding strip on hood, then turns around and says it's on the roof.
Now Babylef talks about a "stripe" being loose so the dealership replaced a seal.
Then meiso is refers to the plastic on the door.

hahah WTH???

yeah that strip is real cheap looking. The newer cars don't have it at all and are just fabric wrapped to the end which looks much much nicer. Either way, it's not supposed to be glued down so it can be removed. It should come off during normal usage but you may have to push it back in if it's loose.
