DIY: Add a sub to your Bose equipped G35 Coupe
Just a caveat for anyone attempting to take this on (I write from my driver's seat covered in sweat
)
I HIGHLY recommend removing both the lower cushion and the upper cushion of the back seat when trying to run the wire into the trunk-- it isn't hard to do, there are two oversized 14mm bolts holding a bracket to the chassis of the car, you just need to remove both of those and give it a fair amount of love to remove the whole seat. The bolts are extremely tight, so you'll need some leverage to get them out.
Once you get the whole back seat out, the rear panels are a lot easier to work with, and once the right rear panel is removed, there is a really nice obvious cable run that you can follow to the trunk. I just wish I would have done that the first time instead of piddling around wondering if I had to take out the whole seat.
Really not that bad if you follow this writeup

I tried this today in my nem M35 and am using a JL 500/1 and a 12W7. The only problem is the bass is always loud. I turn down the volume on the Bose radio and the Bass is still going. I read the service manual like 10x before i soldered.
Someone please HELP.......
In my sedan with the OEM Bose HU, I use the signal for the rear speakers to sens audio to the sub amp so I can use the fader to control the bass level.
Make sure your gain is adjusted on the amp too.

I GOT IT.... I spent most of the day reading schematics, soldering, making the hole for the enclosure bigger. I went out to the garage just now and unplugged the 10" factory sub and used that for my input for the JL500/1 it works perfect and turns on and off like it should.
Man I have been searching this forum and the nico forum on the M section with no luck. I don't understand why no one has done this to an M. The sound difference is night and day. The BOSE system in the M is awesome, but now it is UNREAL
...................My next thing is trying a 12W6v2. This 12W7 is TOO much bass for the car.
