i know this can be found all over the forum but it's tedious to read through every single search result until i get the answer but......

does the Bose amp power the speakers in the coupe doors? if so, will putting infinity kappas in the doors mess things up if LATER i want to add an amp and sub??

thanks guys

Yes.

Maybe, if you get 2 ohm speakers to replace the Bose speakers and your new amp doesn't handle 2 ohm loads.

I have a question:
I have the 10w6 and the 500/1.

When im converting wiring up the RCA's for the input into the amp I need help.

I have two RCAs 1 black, 1 red. Each has two twisted wires coming off them.

Now, what do I hook up to each of these wires?

I have the left and right rear + and negatives, making four in total and the 4 RCA wires in total. Which goes to which? Does it matter?

Can I go left + to red RCA positive, and left - to red RCA negative, then right + to black rca + and right - to black rca -?

Or is this not the way to do this. Or do I use only 1 of the channels, example, just the left rear channel and hook up 1 wire from each rca to the speaker wire. Like; + from red RCA to + from left rear and - from black RCA to - from left rear? Then leave the right channel alone?

Also, how do you suggest I disconnect the 6x9's, at the speaker? or from the out from the amp.

I also couldnt locate a DIY or guide or anything on removing the 6x9's or taking off the rear deck to add padding for rattling.

thanks, any help is appreciated.

i think i got it guys, just double checking.

Did I wire this right:

I took the Right Rear Positive & Negatives, and wires them into the Positive and Negative of the Red RCA.
Then I took the left positive and negative and wired them to the left Rca. Positive being the pin of the RCA.

Am I all good?

I have a feeling if I want to crank it above like 22, the stock fronts will start to sound brutal. I may try this infinity kappa route if it'll slightly prevent the distortion. Do they just sound better or give you more headroom on the volume you can get them to without distorting them. I know without a better amp it may be the former.

Thanks,

Coupe or sedan?

Pull up in the middle of each side for the coupe. The sedan has a plastic pull ring release in the middle of each side. Then pull up on the bottom seat cushion.

done - everything works great - have to wire remote into the sub tomorrow, i thought auto sensing would work but its iffy. Says right in the instructions - not recommended for line level..

so i have to do that and then stop my rear deck and roof liner at the rear where it hits the back window from rattling like crazy.
tips?

This is a great write up, thanks. Can anyone point me where to get the complete JL 4 gauge amp kit for this project from? Does it contain everything including battery connector, twisted RCA wires, etc?

just go into any car audio store and tell them what your doing. They'll give you the right stuff.

I grabbed 16' of 2 Gauge power wire. 3' of 4 ga. ground wire. Fuse kit w/ fuse, 2 battery connectors, 6' RCA's. 3' 12 Gauge speaker wire for remote.

I chose 2 gauge power wire because if I add another amp later for the speakers, Ill still have a nice safety margin.
