Backup camera recommendations
from all of the reviews i been reading, they said CCD rearview cameras is the way togo.
Most guys tap into their reverse lights. so the camera will trigger off everytime you kick the car in reverse.
But in the video below, I'm guessing he tap into a different power source that stays on whenever the car is on.

I just tapped into my reverse light circuit as well. What I haven't quite figured out yet is where/how I want to mount my camera. Here's the camera I bought/wired, and now need to mount!

I'm sure the double sided tape will work out fine.
I paid $150... and the reviews were excellent. Another major consideration I went with this is that I liked how this things looks mounted in the license plate area.
I will, once I finish mounting the camera. Should be done sometime next week. I want to also install the OEM Sirius antenna while I've got the whole rear seating area ripped out. Just waiting on the parts for that retrofit.
Many other cameras crapped out after a year:

The camera has withstood 100+ degrees summers and 20 degree winters in Dallas. Now that I have moved to New Orleans for medical school, we'll see how it holds up to the 75%+ humidity.
I hadn't really considered this when purchasing. It would be a pain in the @$$ to replace a backup camera if it failed. Lots of pulling apart interior pieces and rerunning wire. Finding one that will last years is a great investment.
Sometimes it's alright to spend a little bit more for better quality. I bought the Kenwood CCD-900 3 years ago from Crutchfield for $200 and it's still working perfectly.
