Guys,

I was wondering if I could use a drill to cut the hole in the back of my OEM DVD compartment? I don't have a dremeler and figured a drill would work just as well?

Thanks
B

Nice setup Daniel. Thanks for clarifying for me. I'm going to give the PS2 install a shot tomorrow.

if you add to the top glove box how do you plan to open the ps2?
if you have an older ps2 then that would be a good idea.

to power mine i just got a cigarette lighter power supply from eb games.

yeah... i know, i would have to take the PS2 out a little to change disc but to be honest that would only happen once in a blue moon... i onlyhave 2 games... that i like on ps2.

its just that i use the bottom glve and to have it used up by the ps2 would suck... and i dont use the top glove for really anything...

i bought the Intec Car adapter... works great!!

I secured my PS2 in the top box so that I'm able to get discs in/out without moving it. Just had to adjust the positioning....there's enough overhead clearance for the door to pop up just enough.

My power inverter and PS2 power supply sit under the passenger seat; I ran a 12v 8g line off the battery to the inverter and ran the PS2 power supply cable through the center armrest console up to the back of the glove box. I installed a switch in the right console trim piece to the side of my head unit, just beflow the passenger cigaretter lighter, so I could control power to the inverter/PS2.

Overall it turned out great.

Nope, no issues at all. I was driving down a bumpy highway in NYC for a few minutes with the Gran Turismo intro video blasting. Didn't skip once.

i didnt not tape mine down as its a tight fit in the lower glove box.

i can change discs without a problem while driving.

i have a big hole in mine so i can push the ps2 back far enough so i can shut it with the controller still connected. however you can not shut it with the memory card still connected. with out some dremeling to the front of the glove box and i still dont think it will work correctly. if anyone has found a shorty memory card, if you have found a way to remount the memory card, or has drememled the front of the glove box to make it fit please let me know. or post where you got it from or pics please

can you post a pic of the area you cut?

do you use wireless controllers? or will the standard wired control fit in the glove box with your mod?

I just cut a hole about the size of a silver dollar where the AV/power cables connect to the PS2. It's a pretty nasty hole (not very pretty), but once the PS2 was in there I knew I'd never see behind it. I just used the longest drill bit I could find to reach back there through that top glove box area.

I also used some industrial-strength Velcro (from Home Depot) to secure it. Just attached two small pieces right under the front of the PS2 to adhere it to the compartment. It is rock solid and firmly in place now.

And I can use both wired and wireless controllers just fine.
