a/c wont turn off and radio not working.
Damn, my AC/radio controller finally crapped out today. After reading through this thread and several others, are you guys sure Infiniti won't fix this problem for free?
My car is out of warranty but the VIN is in the recall range. I looked through the PDF file at infinitihelp.com and there's a letter at the end of it:
OWNER’S LETTER
Dear Infiniti Owner:
Thank you for your purchase of an Infiniti 2003 G35 Sedan. Infiniti is committed to providing the highest levels

product performance monitoring, we have identified that the audio and temperature controls may, on occasion,
not operate as expected.
To ensure your satisfaction and to prevent any inconvenience, Infiniti is replacing the component that controls
the audio and temperature controls on your vehicle with an improved version. Your Infiniti dealer may have
already contacted you to schedule an appointment and to have this component replaced, at no cost to you. If
not, please contact your nearest Infiniti dealer to schedule an appointment at your earliest convenience.
This free service should take less than two (2) hours to complete, but your Infiniti dealer may require your
vehicle for a longer period of time based upon their work schedule, or parts availability. If you require alternate

car is available for your use.

Looks like I'm screwed too...
alright, battery died yesterday after a week of intermittent radio display malfunctioning. After reading the posts, it looks like I am also going to be shopping for an aftermarket head unit, double din finisher, A/C controller etc. (don't even get me started on why I need to replace half of my "premium" audio system to make my car drive properly).
Anyway, does anyone have a recommendation on the best place to get the parts so the finished parts will match as close to stock as is possible?

Riverside Infinity (Tony is a member of the forums) seems to be the most popular and have a decent price. If you have a black interior you are out of luck with getting a double din finisher; they only have titanium and willow colored finishers.
i have been having the dark radio display along with no sound and the climate control is stuck at the last position, it is for sure temp related hot weather makes it worse! the strange part is that most of you can use your steering mounted controls and they work however mine do not. does anyone have this prob? i just broke down and bought the new h/u from the dealer and it still does this! any ideas?
A/C and radio dead
Just bought an 03 G35 yesterday from an individual for a great price - I thought. While driving home (3 hours away) this exact thing happened, and even the steering wheel controls don't work. What a crock if Infiniti has this recall and won't fix it if the vehicle is out of warranty. Still their issue. Will advise.
Hi...I finally did my much enticipated DD installation but unfortunately the temp is stuck at 70 and temp up and down button wont work anymore. every other button on the metra kit works though. I unplugged the metra harness on the hvac system to see if the brittle pins are ok and they were...Please help!! Lastly, i have already double checked the climate sensor below steering wheel...it seems intact...by the way, prior to my double din install my factory hvac unit and radio just worked fine

Is this mostly an 03/04 problem? Most of the car affected seem to be those years as well as the service voluntary recall only lists '03
My '06 did this ONCE. I started the car and 20 seconds later the radio stopped working and then climate controls were locked at last setting and i could control the radio from the steering wheel.
I shut off and restarted the car and it corrected and i haven't seen it do this again since.
I'm under warranty still, but how can i ever duplicate the issue to a dealer??

This same thing has happened to me with an 06 G35x. When I first got the car this would happen every 3 or 4 months and a restart of the car seemed to fix it. My radio sound would go off, the display would slowly fade away and I would have no radio for awhile. I never noticed AC problems but maybe because I was not paying attention. In the past year and a half it has only happened once.
The damn dealership I go to told me they had never seen or heard of this problem before. The've replaced the radio, the facepanel, the CD player, the battery a few other miscellaneous components a few times, but the problem has never fully gone away. I used to have a problem with my battery dying frequently which may or may not have been related... that has not happened in a long time.
What sucks is I am leasing the car, and I really wanted to buy it out because I like it, but this has given me a lot of doubts. Any ideas?
