Anyone else have a CD player that skips when cold?
I have a 2004 stock unit and have used it almost nonstop on random play of all 6 CDs for 2000 miles. With the recent colder weather here, it occasionally gives up playing the current track and skips to the next one. Once the car warms up (5-10 minutes after first starting in the morning), the problem goes away.
I assume that the service department will replace the unit if I ask, but with all the worse problems I have heard about here, I may just live with it unless it gets worse. We don't get that much cold weather here in the DFW Texas area.
Any advice?

I think I have the same problem and have been hesitant to have HU changed...
Would also like to see further posts to assist how to proceed, TIA
PS: If I get HU replaced will my Sirius receiver still work or do I have to call Sirius to get this reassigned w/ a new HU?

Re: Anyone else have a CD player that skips when cold?
Before you take it in check the discs next time this happens. I have heard this can be caused by condensation on the disc... with the discs being so cold along with the cd player... once the car warms up and the temp is leveled out inside the unit it would no longer be a problem. I can see where having the opposite problem of the unit stop working when it gets too hot but stop working due to cold temps is common with cdplayers.... do you store you G in a garage or is it outside?

I keep my G in the garage at night, but it did get down to the mid 40s even in there for several days when I had the trouble. Now that the weather has eased up a bit the CD player has been trouble-free.
