I was the winner of that bid. It seems to be the same one as the Avelectronics. You can tell from the second photo. Anyways I'm getting it for $275 shipped. We'll see what happens. I'm still not sure if I'll install it in my car yet cuz it's a lease. I might end up selling it to a fellow G owner.

I watched every single one I even stayed up untill like 1am watching the battle over the first one I found go up to 365 which i though was crazy becasue his buy it now price was 325. I was a little pissed when i saw this post and the link to the auction a few days later but i still got it for a good price lets just hope its not crap in a box when it gets here.

I also tried to email him (the seller) but I got an automated away response. Additionally, the fact that his feedback is private made me more suspicious than I might have been if it wasn 't kept provate.

That unit is not an AV Electronic piece. It is the generic tuner that AV Electronic modifies to work on a number of navigation units. You can tell from the pictures. The logo is covered, under it probably says anaba. The ant connection is still there, the AV piece has the rgb and sync wires coming out there. It does look the same but it is not internally. This ebay version probably will come with an external rgb convertor. If you use a backup camera, it will not turn on automatically like the AV Electronic piece. I believe I have installed this ebay unit in a 2004 Acura TL for someone. The auction looks the same. It did work but was a lot more work than the AV version.

Don't run the audio thru the tape deck. I run my scanner thru there, with the wiring behind the dash. For some reason, the wife likes to eject the tape, even though she knows she's not supposed to... something along the lines of:

Me: "NEVER EVER TOUCH THIS BUTTON..."
wife: "you mean this button?" {push}

first couple of times it was ok, the tape went back in. Now it's ejected and I can't get it to seat. I'll have to take the dash apart again to reseat it.

My AVelectronic tuner runs thru the radio using the antenna harnesses that TrentaCinque advised me on. $14 ea (roughly) at CircuitCity. They are not on the shelf in the store, but have the salesguy call the install shop. They will bring them in from the garage and write you up for them.
