Double Din with Factory Sirius Tuner

So, like many others here, I am thinking to lose the factory HU and go with a double din unit. However, there seems to be a compatibility issue between any new double din receiver and my factory Sirius tuner. A few questions.

1. Can I somehow use the factory Sirius tuner (from what I can tell...the answer is no)
2. If no, can I use the factory Sirius antenna? After all, the tuner is easy to swap out, but the antenna is fully integrated and is attached on the outside of my car just above the rear glass. Any adapters available?

Sorry if this has already been answered before. I couldn't find specific responses to these questions on g35driver or google.

Edit: To clarify question 2, if I want to run an aftermarket HU and aftermarket Sirius tuner, can I somehow use the factory sirius antenna?

Thanks.

I don't think so... I've never seen an adaptor before, but it would be interesting of someone is making them. More and more cars are including it, and with all the people using aftermarket HUs it would make sense.

johntmeer, does it plug right in, or will I need to modify the antenna in any way? Out curiosity, what tuner did you end up using?

Man if this works, then I'm thinking to go with the Kenwood DDX8019 double din HU plus the Kenwood Sirius tuner using my factory Sirius antenna.

The OEM Sirius tuner will not work with an aftermarket HU. If you know a lot about electrical engineering, you might be able to get it to work, but otherwise, no. The plugs are OEM proprietary.

You can use your current Sirius antenna, but depending on the age of the antenna, you may need an adapter. The old antennas have two leads while the new ones only have one. If you have the old antenna with two leads, you may be able to make it work with just the sat antenna lead. However, I have not done this myself.
