Infinity Speaker Upgrade
I got a good deal on some new Inifnity speaker setups. First to replace my doors and tweets...Infinity Ref 6020cs and rear sides...Infinity Ref 6022i. I'm disconnecting the rear deck and putting in a Basslink II with add-on 4 channel amp to tweets and mids. Has anyone used this setup? Crutchfield said the 6020 will fit but nothing about the 6022i. What mounting depth does an 03 Coupe have on the doors and in the rear sides? Also, will Dynamat make a big difference in the doors and the rear sides? I could just say screw it and get Infinity Perfects

I personally do not like the References....they are bottom of the line for Infinity. I have heard them and they definately do not sound that good. I have Perfect 6.1's, 6.5" Kappas in the backseat side panels and 6x9"s Kappas in the rear shelf.
IMO, I would not settle for the cheaper Reference Series...at least go with the Kappa series or higher. I speak from hearing them all in person and I am very happy with the Perfects.
hope this helps....

Hmm..interesting that's my nickname too..'Doc' At least that's what the Marines call me.
Anyway...I took back the Reference and ordered the Kappa 60.7cs for the fronts and the KAPPA 63.7I 6.5" 3-WAY MULTIELEMENT for the rear sides. I'm disconnecting the rear decks and putting in a sub.
I'm back and forth on what I should do.
My first inclination is to install the Basslink II I already have and use the add-on 4SC 4 channel amp to power the separates.
My second inclination is to get a 4080 box but I don't have the cash now. I want clean lows without giving up the space. I was also thinkng of getting a 5channel Infinity amp to power the sub and separates. SO much decision making...
Oh and get this everyone....you know when you're doing your laundry and you find $20 in your pocket you forgot about? That's the same feeling I got when I found out the Previous Owner installed Dynamat in the trunk. He must have had a system.

I have the Basslink as well as I did my install in March 2004 before 4080's time came forth. I like the Basslink, decent powered sub for cheap money and does the job (at least for me).
I power my separates with a 2-channel MTX Thunder and a 4-channel MTX Thunder amps. Work well too. I would upgrade my audio/video more but I am moving on with planning on a TT or SC install in the next year or so.

...Hope you're directing that question to me. Anyway...yep the Refs were 2 ohm but the sound quality from what i've heard isn't all that. So, I took them back and ordered the ones mentioned.
