Re: FINALLY! My DoubleDIN Conversion DIY Guide

Looks GREAT guys. I just got my stereo system all done, but haven't made up my mind on the head unit. Have you guys noticed a much improved sound quality?

Most noticbly is the lack of adjustment because the stock deck has no EQ. Anybody worked around this with a pre-amp EQ / Etc? Suggestions welcomed.... not sure if I want to rip the car apart again.

Re: FINALLY! My DoubleDIN Conversion DIY Guide

yes, sounds a lot better, cause of the EQ capabilities, and the loudness option... highly suggested to keep your stock speakers, unless you wanna go all out!

Re: FINALLY! My DoubleDIN Conversion DIY Guide

My HU has a built-in 5-band EQ, but that was a prerequisite to buying a new HU - either it has a 5-band EQ or I would buy a separate EQ to put into the other din space.... I ended up getting an all-in-one unit so now, I can get a retractable DVD player "whenever"... who knows when THAT will be. But the overall sound quality is MUCH MUCH better in my opinion, but that could also have something to do with the new components and 10" pounding sub.... if it didn't sound better, then I just wasted over $2000.

Have a great weekend! Happy 4th!

Not being a jerk, but just wanted to let everyone know that it retails for $2300, not $2400.

Re: FINALLY! My DoubleDIN Conversion DIY Guide

great job! but my climate control/dash is black, not titanium. what is the part number for that?

also, i have a bose sound system. so if i bought an aftermarket cd-player and bought a aftermarket harness and wired it up, will it play fine? ive always heard that its a PITA with bose systems.
Edited by b18cb00st on 07/06/04 04:08 AM.

Re: FINALLY! My DoubleDIN Conversion DIY Guide

you'll be fine because our sound system is not really 'Bose'
the headunit is made by Clarion and the 6 speakers are generic. The only Bose components of the sound system are the 2 rear shelf woofers and tiny Amp so you shouldnt have any problems with that.
