Navigation Instal Question

Does anyone know if it's possible to just take the housing unit of the navagation and install in the coupe and after hooking it up it will still slide up and down without the OEM LCD screen?
I wanted to hook up the housing to an aftermarket GPS and having the unit slide open and closed would be a good idea (can't be seen).

hey gilley. have you seen anyone with that actual set up in person. Kinda hard to tell the quality of the unit just by the couple of pictures that were on that link. Thanks for posting that link though. much appreciated.

can you just buy the housing and install lets say an alpine screen or some other aftermarket brand because then I could get the navigation add-on and use touchscreen operations....and if this is installed can i still use the stock radio?

why don't you just buy the OEM screen and hook it up to an aftermarket nav like the garmin GVN-52?

that's the nav i run on my OEM screen and the garmin unit is fantastic!
