Custom Vista ultimate 8.4" Xenarc touchscreen/fingerprint/EVDORevA carpc

The console pieces are both modified OEM parts. The ash tray holder was filled in through a plastic welding process (simply melting plastic together) Then dremel/sanding to get the deck hole cut. On the upper piece I used part of the xenarc screen bezel and cut a hole in the OEM piece and plastic welded them together which allowed me to maintain the mounting points for the lcd to the bezel/housing.
This looks great!
I have been planning out my carputer for a while now, and I just don't really like the stock navi location nor the double din location solution. I would like to try something like you have done, but I have a few questions. 1.) What equipment did you use to do the plastic welding (iron, speed tip, air, gas, etc.), and what welding plastic did you use (ABS rods, PP, etc.)? 2.) Any progress with the HVAC control app? I think going with the bigger touch screen, like you have, seems like the best solution, but I would like to know your experience working out the ventilation controls. I don't have the stock navi, so I am thinking about custom welding the controls into that position, but obviously the custom app would be ideal. I am an ASP.NET (C#) web developer, so let me know if I can help with the app, assuming you do not already have it created.

Still stock but it sounds much better after putting 60sqft sound deadening in there and filled the rear quarter panels with insulation. I had a 13w7 running off a Zapco Reference 750 at one point but took it out for the sake of the computer and more importantly my back seat . I do plan on putting some DLS components in and a smaller sub. Possibly a 10w7
And what kind of SD?

I saw this thread years ago and forgot all about it till recently bumped. I did a blue led dash setup awhile back which turned out awesome but i was never able to switch out the led's for the seat warmers. How did u do it? I have an auto and also left the PNDR etc. lights factory orange. If there is a thread or someone who knows how to do this please let me know. Awesome job by the way. Im still curious as to where ur ac controls went and if ur even using them..?

Here is a close up of the seat heater switch led's. One backlight, one indicator.
They look like little 1206's, but you can switch them with any little SMD.
The one in the middle of the switch (on the right in the pic) is the backlight led, and the one on the side (left) is the indicator led.
