Hmm weird.. I'm running a 10w3 as well and if I remember correctly I'm running 300wrms on it. No probs with rattling plate ever though... although I don't really thump very often anymore.

I'd check up on that FatMat after a few very hot days. It's been known to peel off because it's not butyl based, rather, it's asphalt based and cannot withstand temps as high as butyl can withstand.

Try using an open cell foam. Deadener mat is aimed to reduce vibration whereas a pad that is open or closed celled will eliminate rattle. Open cell would probably be better that way it can compress when you screw the plate in.

No setup currently installed, still in the process of doing my setup, but I'm debating whether or not I should use my JL 15w6 since it's new. I'm actually seeking to go with a pair of 15's and finding another 15w6 in the condition i need is too difficult so i'm opting for a pair of 18's if they fit.
I'd LOVE to run a pair of Image Dynamics IDW18's but they are $$$$. I might just go with Mach 5 IXL 18's or Fi IB 18's. Will be powered by a JBL GTO 1201.1.

Infinite baffle..use the trunk as an enclosure. A single 15 would fit no problem. 2 should as well, but I would get a ton more cone area with 2 18's. I'll have to remove the thick foam that is like 2" tall and build directly on that. I should have enough height and I would have to angle it a little. Width wise I should be fine too. If I can't fit a pair of 18's I'll do 2 15's for sure. My goal is to get as much low end reproduction as possible. I don't care too much about gettin very loud, it'll get plenty loud, but the things one will feel will be intense. A 16 Hz note will give the spine some shivers, hehe.
