how much do these Double din conversions approximately cost including installation? Did you guys buy all your parts online? thanks

just want to make sure, is this everything I need to get a double din conversion set? does the price look reasonable to you guys?

 

Double din face/ac controller go for $250 to 270, Headunit, harnesses so you dont have to use your OEM $10, your own install Free, i can tell you pretty much what to do to install it and its pretty much easy to do.

 

Depends on if you want to keep your steering wheel controls or add an aftermarket amp, subs, door speakers. Do you have a Bose system or factory navigation because that will determine what dash kit you need. Do you want a metra dash kit our an OEM dash kit. You still needed a double din trim ring to make it flush. Email me I can help you out the best I can I just did mine about 4 months back.

Here's the setup I installed a few years ago. I added the factory navigation screen housing and controls to a Non-Nav system using the the Electrical section of the Infiniti Service manual. My diagram of the wiring is included in the photos.
I removed the factory screen and installed an Alpine Touchscreen, which fits almost perfectly. As shown in the diagram, the operations of the navigation screen motor and the navigation switch illumination were restored by splicing into the A/C control wiring harness.
I wasn't able to find a Navigation version of the JDM Double Din Finisher at the time of installation, so the extra height of the non-Nav finisher required some modification that the installer wasn't able to get quite right.
I added switches on the side of the center console to control my front and rear license plate frame cameras. The upper switch turns the front bumper camera ON and OFF on the upper screen for more precise parking. The lower switch toggles the rear-view camera between ON and REVERSE on the lower screen as needed.

my Bose stereo in my 04 isnt playing sound, thats it, so if i go with this DD alls i need is the PAC REOM NIS2, antenna adaptor and say the metra kit right?

 

You'll also need the steering wheel adapter (Metra Axxess ASWC).

 

i'm looking for the double din kit that keeps the factory buttons because i HATE how the Metra kit looks the buttons seem cheap i prefer the factory buttons.............. i drive a 03 coupe

 

The reputable sources I know of are all on my shopping/resource list that's sticky'd at the top of this forum. Just expect to be out over $300 for it. (Money well spent, IMO)

 

I see alot of you guys are running the Pioneer 4400. I really like the clean look of the Sony 72BT for $350. What is your thoughts on the two?

 

The 72BT is is pathetically slow and laggy. I could never live with it every day. For $350, you're looking at the Pioneer 3400BH, which is a fantastic unit. Bluetooth, HD Radio, very good interface.

Just watch this video. THere's like 3 seconds between every tap of the screen and the result:

Just look at it from 0:14 to 0:34. That's how long it takes them to get from playing one song by an artist to another.

 

if sound quailty is your goal the sony is a better choice than the Pioneer.

Out of the box with no adjustments the Sony unit I had sounded better.
The Sony also has time alignment.
