People with Pioneer avic installed Look here!!!

whats up guys, i just installed an avicf700bt in my 05 coupe with the jdm dd kit. My question for you guys is that there is about an 1/8 inch gap from the radio not fitting correctly, i was wondering what you guys where using to cover the gap. i tried sticking some black velcro in there but didnt look good, so if you guys could chime in and let me know what your using and how u mounted it to cover the spot that would help me out alot thanks

i attached a pic of what mine looks like

I have the AVIC-F90BT in one of my G35s. I used the Metra 99-9999 universal kit to fill in the gap. It took some time to dremel the outside of the kit to fit in the JDM, but it looks flawless now. A hacksaw with a light-cut blade would have likely been the faster option, just use a piece of posterboard/cardboard to make a guide.

I removed the little fins down at the bottom of the JDM faceplate to let the Metra kit go down further as well.

I also mounted mine slightly further inside, so it's slightly sunk in instead off protruding like yours appears to.

If you want pictures, I'll get some tomorrow.

Oh, and there's the 3.0 update coming out for the AVIC-F series you may want to pick up. The $60 limited time offer still seems to be available (check price after adding to cart).

Pics would be great as I'm not sure what u did. As far as it sticking out I was limited by the mounting holes on the cage.

Alright, here's with the Metra 99-9999 and inset (no new holes or brackets besides the plastic double din gap-filler):

The three little lines at the bottom you see were the "fins" I removed to let it fit better:

To Jpetrarca- I'm looking to do the same thing that you did, with the F700BT and double din. Where did you get the DD? Was the system hard to set up?

PhillyG35, I'd check your regional board for somebody who's done it before. After you've taken the dash out once, you can do it in 1/4 of the time with your eyes closed.
