Generally what I've done is go to Walmart and they have a Scosche kit overthere. See if they have one for the G35, if so then buy it, should be about 7-10 bucks. Otherwise you'll have to go to Best Buy or some audio store where they have the wiring harness for the 35. There should only be one and it's not head unit specific. The harness will work with any head unit you purchase.

I'd say $200 is a bit expensive. I honestly wouldn't go to best buy either, some of those guys are tools, but some do know what they're. Plus when it comes to certain things, like amplifier install, they can't do it the proper way. You have to scrape down the paint on the chassis to bare metal to get a good connection for the ground, and they're simply not allowed to do that. As for head units, I can't really think of anything they can do to screw it up unless they don't know what they're doing.
I'm sure you can find an audio shop, a reputable one that would do it for half the cost. I haven't worked on the G so I'm not quite to familiar with the RCA input that is required for an amp. I know there is a tutorial here somewhere and you can follow that, but generally, hooking up a head unit is not all that difficult when it comes to using the wiring harness.
I actually just googled the wiring harness for the G and I came up with ones that look different, and it seems that the guy at Best Buy is correct about the RCA's...I believe this is the one you would need.

See if you can work with them. Tell them you can get the harness for $20 and a shop to install it for $100 and see if they're willing to match the install cost, otherwise, I'd search around for audio shops and see what they will charge to install the DD kit w/HU.
