Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

I'm planning to get 200GB. Right now the lowest price that's available now is around $90~$100. At first I was going to get 250GB, but right now the price difference between them is too high and I dont think I ll need that much. I haven't yet researched on how to transfer the movies into the HD but I'm almost certain that we'll need a router^^.
I'm hoping that the xbox would be able to play DivX files... I have some foreign movies that are in DivX format ....

Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

Generator, any updates?

The PS2 Slim apparently fits in the lower glove box in the G35. This makes the new PS2 a prime choice for people who just want DVD playback and play Gran Turismo and other PS2 games.

May I suggest just come out with a NAVBox with component input? That way people can use either the PS2, X-Box, or another external source of their choice.

Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

hardware limitations limited the hard drive capacity to 120 but the new xbox mod chips supposedly allow for higher capacity drives...

Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

I'm getting the NavStation for PS2 this week from GeneratorLabs and was wondering if you guys could help me with something. I will never be playing music through the PS2, just DVDs and games so what are the limitations with connecting the Aux1 negative remote output wire to the "switching" wire of the NavStation (has same wires as NavBox).

1) Say it's all hooked up and if I'm in Sat RAdio Mode 1, then the screen should switch to the PS2 right, along with audio from the PS2?
2) What happens if I switch to Sat RAdio Mode 2?
3) Waht happens if I push Disc or FM while in Sat Radio Mode 1? Will the PS2 be displayed still but I will have Disc or FM audio?

Thanks ahead!

Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

It seems that a lot of folks don't know that I have a website for the NavBox. There are links there to email me direct if there are any questions. Emailing me directly will get a quicker response than PM'ing me. Thanks

Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

"So if I understand you correctly you used an RCA splitter so the audio is going into both inputs? So that way when you switch to input 2 on the headunit you still receive sound but it switches to the NAV screen? What happens when you hit the DISC or FM button? Does it switch off the Xbox also? "

Yes you are correct, the RCA splitter is so both sets of inputs on the AASNIS are from the xbox. When you switch to the DISC or FM, the xbox DOES NOT TURN OFF, but the navigation screen will go back to the nav.
Check to make sure that these three things are grounded.
1. The end of the navbox harness, there is a stranded un-sheilded wire. Make sure this is grounded somewhere around the glove compartment.
2. There is a single sheilded wire coming out of the XBOX harness, ground this wire.
3. Solder another wire to the chassis of the xbox closest to the power supply and ground this.

If you ground all the following items, you should have no interference on the screen.

dollar99 - FYI, I tried sending this to you in a PM but it says your box is full.

I believe you used the wireless doorbell to power on your Xbox and then programmed the Homelink with the remote...correct? I'm having issues with mine and I was just curious if you've had any problems as well. It worked fine for a while, but now when I power it on with either the Homelink or the remote it came with it usually powers on/off 3 times then just shuts off. It doesn't FRAG, if you're familiar with that Xbox term. It just turns on/off quickly 3 times. If I press the power button on the Xbox itself it turns on fine, so it's definitely the doorbell unit.

I took my Xbox inside the house one day to troubleshoot and it worked fine, so I started thinking maybe it was environmental conditions since it's starting to get really cold out. Now it's just getting worse and worse and it's driving me nuts. I'm trying to think of a way around this.

Have any thoughts?

Thanks.

What's going on with the PS2 NAVBox? I finally found a slim PS2 to fit in the glove compartment. Generator, is it possible to make your NAVBox 'UNIVERSAL?' Just leave the RBG interface or an adaptor to use it with either the X-Box, PS2 or whatever else. I need the PS2 NAVBox but might get a X-Box2 down the road.

Hey Slizzap, You replied to me but I did not use the doorbell method , Let me know what happens as it is a good cheaper alternative as long as it works.

Does anyone know where i can find how to remove the headunit in the 2005 g35c ( to plug in the PAC audio) And also if the Navbox's connections are the same with the 2005 ( i dont see why they shouldn't been, but just wondering). BTW where are you guys putting the Xbox? Trunk? Under seat? And please post how its works with the temperatures droping now in the winter? Thanks!!

Look at the installing double din sticky on how to remove the radio. You'll have to remove the radio in order to access the back of it to install the PAC cable. I put double sided tape all around my PAC unit and placed it right below the radio, behind the ash tray...the double sided tape is used to secure it there and also to keep it from rattling against other stuff in my console.

Finally installed NavBox

I just installed my Navbox. Took a bit of time since I'm new to all of this, but I'm proud to say I did it myself, with much help from Daniel at generatorlabs.com. I can't say thank you enough to him for all the quick email responses. Thank you!

I installed an XBOX that I modded myself as well and used the PAC AAI-NIS for the audio. Man, the sound is awesome. When you play games like ESPN NFL or NHL, you can feel the action through the stock speakers.

Anyway, here are some pics. Pics don't do the image justice, it's really high quality.
