NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

Just got back from Generator's home , We did a test run of the navbox interface into my G , For those of you who do not know what that is, It allows you to connect your xbox to your Nav screen with picture quality that would make your home TV's Jealous !!! And requires less wiring than any stereo or alarm install . I had access to the wiring point in the G in a matter of 10 minutes and could have had the whole thing wrapped up in about an hour or so. Here is a link demonstrating the NAVBOX mod and the NONAG mod which allows your Nav screen to go straight to the map screen on startup No more annoying disclaimer screen

https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...d&sb=5∂=

Here are some pics of the xbox running on my nav screen.
Generator can be reached via email at publicbox@verizon.net

Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

The interface measures 3"X 3"X 2" and is designed for automotive use which can be a harsh enviroment considering moisture and vibration.

I'll sign up for one! My question is: Can you only hook it up to the X-Box or any standard AV input? I like the flexibility of a modded X-Box, but the unit is so chunky it has to stay in the trunk.

Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

Looks awesome. How did you do the sound and where did you stash the X-BOX? I've been monitoring Generator's thread on the Murano forums, but was curious if it's been done on a G. I'm sold now. How do I order?

Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

Here is a photo. The box I use now is different. I now use a potted module to better handle the possible moisture and vibration elements of a car. It is all solid state (no relays or moving parts) and fairly small and easy to hide.
Edited by generator on 09/19/04 06:18 PM.

This is a photo of the boards prior to assembly. I have the boards made in Malaysia and assemble and test them here.

Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

It will be mounted in the trunk , Power and Video switching will be done by the homelink buttons and an RF game controller will be used , It is a modded xbox with a 120gb hard drive so games and movies are be stored into it.Thats what makes the xbox so ideal for this use.
