Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

A design tech reciever module # 30037 was wired up to do the powering up and video switching then I had the homelink "learn" the frequency emitted from the transmitter.

Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

I have a question. I am really really in to this modification. I am about to do this mod. I like the screen quality and the specially the home link button.
What I want to know is this.
You said you will mod the xbox also, like BENZITO
How much will everything cost?
1.Xbox modification
2.your module with all the set up for xbox to play and sound in car
3.the homelink modification.
I guess I want to do it just like BENZITO
how you use joystick if the xbox is in trunk do you extend it or wireless?
I want to do it my self because it cost alot to install. I was wondering it comes with picture guide manual or something.

Thank you

Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

Does the DVD Movie Playback Kit for the xbox (remote control from microsoft) allow you to power up the xbox? Or will you have to get out of the car and pop the hatch to boot up the xbox?
I have a regular xbox (not modded) and definitely want to do this mod, also what FM mod. do you recommend?

Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

I just found out the xbox remote does not allow you to turn the xbox on and off. so the homelink way sounds really cool to start it up.

Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

DJROBX: No word on the NoNag for the G yet. Benzito was supposed to meet up with me at some point to do a test run. I'm waiting on him. I guess we have both been really busy.

WANCH83: The NavBox interface is $149. I think the homelink interface was around $80. To mod your xbox is gonna cost $160 plus the cost of a hard drive of your choice. A Pac interface of RF Modulator for sound will cost you in the $40-60.00 range. Plus there are other things like the inverter and wiring etc. It is a sizeable venture. It still costs less than going another route.

AXION: A modded xbox does not need the IR remote control. The movies and songs are controlled via the joystick, which in most cases would be a RF wireless type of joystick. You cannot turn on the xbox with the remote. If you are tight on funds you dont have to do the homelink thing right away or at all. You could just wire a switch with a wire to the xbox to turn it on from the drivers position. The possibilities are endless.

Re: NAVBOX TEST RUN COMPLETE

I will let Generator speak for prices but I can answer some of your questions
1) for control by the homelink buttons Theese must be purchased Reciever module and this DEI 611T latching relay . The reciever module must be set to momentary then wired internally to the xbox switch to turn it off and on. Then the other momentary output needs to go to the latching relay to convert it to latching which will operate the navbox switching the screen from nav to xbox.
The controller used for the xbox is a wireless RF one made by logitech , so far it has worked flawless and I highly recommend it!!
