Will the metra wiring harness (70-7550) work with my 06 G35
with bose system? Or do I need the (70-7551) to be able to install the pioneer app radio 4
Or which wiring harness do I need to install my aftermarket radio?
I will be installing the pioneer Appradio 4 with the JDM double din kit
If this helps before I cracked open my dash to see how the previous owner installed the Pioneer HU I figured it was bypassed. They used the standard wiring adapter without RCAs but they still integrated with the factory Bose unit. You can wire to your choosing. I assumed since they used the standard non Bose adapter my Bose amp was bypassed but it isn't. I unplug the amp no sound comes out. It's best to just bypass the amp from the DIY. Unplug the connector from the amp and solder the input/output wires together. Remove the amp and have it powered on its own. Sound quality has to be better that way. Or run your own speaker wiring from HU or aftermarket amp wires to speakers using RCAs.
People make some of the stuff harder than it is. Ive dealt with much worse before with cars that had 3-4 different factory amps.

JDM typically go for $300 lightly used, Metra can be had for $150 new if you get a decent deal. $200 for JDM is a pretty rare find, but may be possible on eBay or the marketplace here.
Why should i choose the Metra axxes aswc-1 over the Maestro SW for new pioneer units that are made for the Maestro ? I just got a new Pioneer 4200NEX and Maestro SW . Do you have a wiring diagram for the SW? Im thinking it should be easier as its programmed by the user on a computer before being installed in the car .

They're functionally identical and the ASWC-1 is about $15 less, so there's zero reason to go with the Maestro, and no reason to complicate the shopping list with adding unnecessary options.

The ASWC can be programmed via phone (USB-OTG cable) or computer as well.

I've had trouble in the past with dimmers. Unless it really bothers you I wouldn't worry about it.

The dimmer wire going to the temp/compass display can be tapped as well.
Hey Wrathernaut, Long time member here that can't seem to find my login info, but i need some advice urgently.
Im installing a 4100-NEX into my 2003.5 G sedan that previously had a AVIC-D1 installed. I am wiring up the pioneer harness to the 70-7550. I am powering all speakers including subs by JL amps in the rear.
Do I skip wiring the green, purple, white and gray pairs? If I already did wire them up already, shall I disconnect them and tape them up? Or will it even matter?
Also, my Metra 70-7550 does NOT have its own black wire like suggested by your chart... is that a problem?
Also, I wiring the Axxis unit up for steering wheel controls.
Do I tap into the pioneers red wire on the pioneer power harness? OR is it ok to connect all 4: the red from pioneer harness, the red from metra 70-7550, the blue from metra 70-7550, and finally the Axxiss's red wire all together in one connection?
Also, the chart shows the axxis units black wire should be connected to the m39 yellow and grounded... Does that mean I tap m39 wire to both the axxis units black wire AND another wire that goes to ground?
SO, From what I understand, The Pioneer's blue white signal cable should run first to the blue wire from the microbypass and an added third wire that i then connect to both the the blue/white of the metra 70-7550 and the blue/white leading to my rear amps...?
Last question: Will I need a line driver to up the voltages from the pioneer? IS there any signal loss from low output voltages? IF so, is a line driver the appropriate solution? If so, does it need to be as close to the pioneer's output connections as possible, or may i mount in in the rear trunk near the amps? Will it even matter?

If you're running your own RCAs to the amps, then yes, you have no need for the green/purple/white/gray wires. Tape them up so they're not in the way.
Not a problem, you just ground everything together to the chassis.

Yes, all the red wires and blue (antenna amp power) go together, as do the black wires with the yellow wire (reference ground) from the M39.

You don't need a bypass for the NEX4100. There's one built into the unit, check youtube. Just run the blue/white to the remote power signal wire on the amps.
I was gonna chime in but wrathernaut already replied and covered everything. At first the G's wiring seemed complicated when looking at a schematic but I think you were second guessing yourself. My car had some minor tweaking to it prior to my ownership a few months back. I ripped everything apart and tracked wires to see what was bypassed or used and what wasn't. From your in depth question you already knew your answers before wrathernaut confirmed. I look at wiring now with a schematic and think to myself how do I wanna wire it and that usually works given a person has audio knowledge which you clearly do.
What all else are you installing or did I miss it. Just the headunit, curious on reviews. I'm wanting to a newer pioneer just haven't decided on which of the 20 different models made the last year
