Sound Deadening

What are you guys using for your sound deadening? Dynamat? Dead Matt? eDead? Spray on?

I've used Dynamat in the past but i'm not interested in using it again because of how expensive it is compared to others, without much of a benefit.

Looking to try out something new, preferably something that gives you a little more bang for the buck.

Only one I'd endorse:
www.sounddeadenershowdown.com

Just do it right - 25% coverage with CLD tiles + foam + vinyl barrier - instead of spending a ton on just layers and layers of vibration dampening.

After that, I'd say Damplifier Pro, but there's no others that I'd really spend money on, particularly not Dynamat.

Some areas, yeah, maybe, but it's more about the difficulty of getting it in there than whether there's room for the material.

I've tried fatmat..I have not had a problem with it yet..good price better than dynamat.100sq ft of fatmat 50mil for $129 shipped,100sq ft 80 mil $160.had enough to do the doors and rear from the seat to the trunk.some places I even made it thicker...best sound deadening for the money IMO...

ive been using this stuff that works pretty well (80mil for $129) but im tired of using a heat gun to get it to stick propperly and then having to pull everything appart a week or two later to reheat the corners.

ill have to look into those companies you guys sent me...thanks everyone for the input

also what are the main rattle points in these cars? as in, what part of the car should i pay the most attention to when laying. i know my wife's civic was the trunk lid and in my silverado it was the rear doors and roof....i still plan on doing most of the car but i might lay an extra layer if theres one point they always rattle...

Rear deck is #1.

Then just get doing the wheel wells and doors.

I've been looking into decreasing noise to an already quite ride with a budget under $100. I do have dampening material from a previous installation. I've heard that "stick & peel" at Home Depot is pretty much the same as Dynamat for a cost effective alternative. As for the closed cell foam like Second Skin's Luxury Liner Pro, which I think is more for sound absorption, would products found on the link below be an adequate alternative? Other ideas or suggestions are welcome.

I used HushMat on my '66 Nova and it works great. It is much cheaper than the other brands mentioned.

how do you install it? Do I literally pop off door panel stuff it in and put my door panel back? Do I need to glue it down maybe? Seems like a cheap mod that would quiet down some road noise so I may just do this in the doors so I dont hear the road as much.

Closed cell foams are great, you could get them there, or through sounddeadenershowdown.com.

The peel & stick from home depot may be as good as dynamat, but dynamat sucks *****.

The quality of the adhesive on that crap is nothing like the quality stuff that sounddeadenershowdown.com's CLD tiles use.

Damplifer's ok too, but SDS is the way to go.
