Usually the following remain the same:

1. Cost of the desired HU.
2. Dash Kit -- all are going to be over $100 since you will need to replace the HVAC controls.
3. Harness -- scosche or metra.
4. Antenna adapter -- scosche or metra.

The following he can cut costs:
1. Avoid the harness and splice wires.
2. Instead of 0/4 guage amp kit he can get 4/8 guage.
3. Instead of high power Class D amp he can get a class A/B even though power consumption isn't as efficient.
4. Don't have to go crazy with HIGH end cables.
5. If you're running less than 1000 watts total then you may not need the capacitor.
6. Read a lot of DIYs to do the labor yourself.
7. Exclude the Axxess steering wheel control module if you won't use it much.
8. Don't do a custom box. You can even get the kits where you assemble the enclosure yourself.
9. Don't have to buy EVERYTHING new. U can find some good used deals on Ebay, Amazon, or Craigslist. Even new closeout items are a good buy.

You can also sell some of your OEM equipment if you want to recover some of the costs.

IIRC it was 3" port dont remember all the specs they are written down somewhere. I did it a month back. Been doing powder coating lately and holding off on speaker box build. Powder coating is fast and more money. Ill be gearing back up for boxes soon.

Built this one at the same time for same guy it absolutely slammed was for 2 sundown sa-12's, painted it black with texture looks like rhino lining.
Ill be doing a build log for my build when I get the car.
