Does anyone know how to display youtube videos from the Iphone to the receiver? I swear I've done it before, but I can't seem to repeat the process.

You'd have to do it as a video-out mode (jailbroken) or through advanced app mode (probably also requiring jailbreak).

I played youtube videos with a stock IphoneS and Advanced App Mode. When my phone updated the app, my youtube playback stopped working.... So jailbreaking isn't the root of the problem.

When you mention video out mode. Are you referring to the deck or the phone?

Using a video out adapter for the phone with jailbreak to go to the video in on the headunit.

I'm insanely close on pulling the trigger on the 8400.

I was wondering though.. can I run/control any nav programs from my phone to the 8400 via bluetooth? like as was mentioned that pandora was bluetooth compatible. Are all apps bluetooth compatible or should I wait for the cdih202 to run app radio properly? id love to be able to run google maps on the pioneer.. that would be awesome.

Any news on any other radios coming out for 2013? any new/creative technology coming out? I cant seem to find any up to date news sources on the subject.

Audio apps are generally all compatible. You'll get skip forward/back and pause control. As for maps though, no. That would require touchscreen mapping a whole lot of other functions not part of the bluetooth remote control protocol (AVRCP).

I have a little bit of hope for Pioneer's AppRadio to become something cool, but it seems that every major headunit manufacturer fired all their engineering departments when they figured iPod compatibility and a FM tuner with optional navigation was all anyone could ever want in their cars.

CES 2013 showed off nothing innovative, maybe everyone was busy getting lightning connectors bolted onto their current products instead of doing something new. - EDIT: Maybe Alpine's got some brains? - http://www.crutchfield.com/learn/ces...-features.html - Uses MirrorLink "standard" to connect the phone and radio. There's a decent group trying to get it to work with more than the Galaxy S III - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1837847
Further edit. sad that my old Nokia N8 would work with mirrorlink, but not my brand-new Nexus 4 - http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/suppor...1&info_id=1145

I finally ordered the 8400bh. I'm looking to pick up a 64gb SDHC card for my media. Anyone have any suggestions?

Anyone come across any issues with using a high capacity 32gb+ sd card?

Should I update with the latest firmware? I've read some people have been having issues with the iPhone 5 Bluetooth update.

I had the shop install my 8400 and everything is working fine with the exception of the GPS voice command. I was wondering if it's a wiring issue do I need to buy anything extra? or is it a settings issue? The GPS works fine but the voice command doesn't work since the double-din conversion.

No. The audio signal is sent out the 30-pin connector on the CD-IU201S, but the audio signal is not sent over the standard iPod USB cord, which just includes the data and power signals. There's also the other signals that allow the video and such to be transferred, again, not in a standard USB cord.

To get the iP5 to work with the 8400, you need one of these, and an apple lightning-to-USB adapter and an apple lightning-to-VGA adapter:

The USB can be extended easily, but I'm not sure about that other connector, but you're looking at well over $200 to add iP5 support to the 8400.

Just when I though I was done buying items for this install lol. I suppose when I decide to upgrade to the
iP5 I can still function the music through Bluetooth right?

Yeah, bluetooth is unaffected by the wired stuff.

I don't recommend using them, solder and heatshrink is the way to go.

If you're going to insist on using them, I think 14 gauge should fit for all of them on the radio harness wires.
