Ok, new idea. Has anyone made their own faceplate for their Double Din? I see Xzibit do it all the time. Can't be that hard.

Does anyone have a template for the Double Din plate? maybe in PDF format.

Thanks

This is ******* crazy. Luckily I found the AC controller in the US for $200 which is the normal price. But I had to hit up japanparts.com for the finisher. A whopping $195 just for the finisher. So I'm in about $400 for a complete dash kit. I never even paid that much for a radio in my life and thats what I have to pay for a dash kit. It will be here by June 26th. Good luck to the rest of you guys and your quest for an aftermarket radio in your 05 - 07 G35.

I'm going to hold out. I just got the car two days ago and, although the stereo isn't everything I'd like it to be, it'll do for now.

In my Z, I have a Pioneer Premier that would take a USB drive or iPod, a 10" sub in a stealth box below the hatch floor, and a Kicker 5ch amp driving everything. It sounds pretty good, and I like having control of the iPod using the HU. Eventually I may just get an iPod adapter for my G35 HU and call it a day for the time being. But for now I'll just burn CDs with MP3s on them, since the stock HU can play those.

Lucky you. I have already upgraded everything in my car but the HU and my stock HU is throwing out a weak signal which is screwing with my sound. So I need to get a new HU in there ASAP. I really wish I could stay with my stock HU as this is costing me another $1500. Doesn't have to be that much but if I going to put in another HU might as well be a double din nav unit.

Ok, so I called Car Toys and it looks like Metra makes an entire Kit for about $50. Electronics and everything.

Can someone tell me about this? It looks like it was just released last month. I mean, the buttons look a little different but I really don't care about that. If I can avoid spending over $350 I'm in.

It's gonna look bad if the finish is painted whereas the rest of your dash is aluminum.

How difficult is going to be to switch and solder the dual climate button to an AC controller that doesn't have one?

It's pretty easy if you have used a solder iron. You'll need some needle nose pliars too.
