Any opinions on the Memphis Belle 600 watt 5 channel amp?
Any opinions on this amp? An old thread states that it will fit in the space where the blose amp is and I can use all 5 channels for all my speakers. TIA

I debated picking up the Belle when I was looking for a 5 channel amp to run my whole system. I looked at it but ended up going with the more expensive JL 500/5. I love the JL and it has quite a bit of flexibility when it comes to crossovers and the like. It's footprint is smaller than the Belle and maybe that contributes to its heat as I know mine runs pretty warm if I have the sytem up about 1/3 for extended periods of time. How would you say the two compare Rudy? Any others have any input on the JL 500/5 vs. the Mephis Belle?
Actually the JL 500/5 has a much bigger footprint than the Belle. You might have been looking at the bigger 1400 watt belle. I like the JL better personally but it has fitament issues and is more expensive. I like the wattage setup to the 5 channels on the JL and has better crossovers justifying the extra cost. Both are great amps for thier respective price point, it just depends on how much you want to spend. You will get more bass from the belle, 400 vs. 250 watts but more front end on the JL 100 vs. 55 watts. Make your decicion on cost and whether you want more bass or more sound quality.
The JL has a built in LOC the belle does not.

Sorry to bother you again Rudy but what sub have you used with the Belle. I was looking at JL subs but can decide which is best for the power that the belle would bring. I take it your figure of 400 was at 1ohm? I'm guessing that should be good for the 10w6v2 sub. Would that work well? Will the 10w6v2 run at 1ohm fine? Is the w7 worth the extra $$?
According to:

It says I can do 75 x 4 and then 200 x 1 for the sub (all at 2ohm...can I even run the front/rear speakers at 2ohm). Does this setup look better as the front 4 channels get more and the sub gets less? I don't need a ton of bass but would like a little thump. Can the JL subs run at 2ohm?
Thanks for any help you can give.

No problem, thats what I am here for. Here is a really good guide on different options for getting one or two sub wired down to what ever ohms you want.
http://www.jlaudio.com/tutorials/wiring/index.html
It is not enough power for the W6 or the W7 and I would not recommend running to fronts at 2 ohm because you are giving up control thus lower sound quality. 55 watts RMS on the 4 channels is alot and will sound really good. If you go with the belle I would recommend two Dual-4 Ohm Subwoofers wired to 1 Ohm, either the JL W3s or the Memphis M-Class subs. The RIPS technology on the JL amp will give you full power anywhere between 1.5 and 4 ohms. My brother has to of the M-class subs in a ported box with the belle an it sounds phenominal.

I have a memphis belle set up by SA and I am very pleased with the outcome.
The whole car is memphis speakers, subs, amp...sounds awesome... great bass and good mids/highs.
Ask Rudy about the sound quality in my car... If that suits your needs...run with it.

We did the same set up as my brothers car in Gary's (Gs G Ride) G35. Memphis all around with an extra set of tweeters in the front. If you get a chance to see him at a meet, ask to listen to it.

Hey Rudy...hate to riase this thread from the dead but I was looking at the memphis subs you recommeneded. I am only going to have one 10" sub with the memphis 5 channel amp as I am getting the 4080 box. You mentioned the M class sub as being a good sub. Considering I will be getting 400 watts at 1ohm, which sub would sound best...the rugular 10" M-class sub or the new M3 10" sub? Would the amp be able to run that M3?
Also, should I be looking at a single coil or dual coil sub?
Thanks (this could have been a whole lot eaiser for me if I didn't live 3000 miles from you guys)
