04 Double Din Conversion Question

After reading some DIY's for the double din, it seems that you have to take the navi cubby apart. I have the navigation system, so how hard is it to do this?

I dont see disassembling being any different. The Navi section comes out with the rest of the dash/HU. Once you remove the top bolt and the bottom two it all comes out together. Just more wires to disconnect.

so your doing the double din with the nav right? if so dis-assembly is the smallest thing you have to deal with. when you get the piece from japan it is made for the non nav cars so you have to shave the top off to fit under the air controlls. then you have to integrate with the factory nav audio outputs so you can hear the driving directions with a small amplified speaker. if you have any questions feel free to pm me.

Nice, I was thinking of getting that same exact radio. So the install is the same as non-nav units? No extra cutting/modifying or equipment needed? Does anyone have any more info about the nav voice not working with aftermarket radio?

2004 Double Din conversion problem w/ AC control unit

I had my double din conversion done- Here's the problem- When the ac is set at 60 degrees it blows ice cold when I adjust up to 61 degrees it blows HOT like it is set on 90 degrees. Has anyone experienced this? how to fix it. my next step is going to the dealer to check it. The dual climate button was installed. its really weird.. If the dual controls are on I can set the left side on 60 deg. and set the right side on 61 deg. the left will blow very cold and the right side blows very hot. I have not messed with the heat yet but I wonder if the ac unit I bought for the conversion could bad?

When you drop the drivers side dash there is a temperature sensor on the right side. Whoever put the dash together probably forgot to plug it back in...

That is the DDX7017, no? Is that basically the newer 7015, or is the 8017 the newer 7015? The 7015 is an excelon unit and the 7017 is not. I'm confused. I have a chance at a used 7015 and might just go that route. Can't see paying the extra for the 8017 for a few extra backgrounds/SSers and for 5.1 surround sound. Especailly when I'm just going to be running a set of components.

Are you getting the Kenwood Nav as well? Or integrating the factory?
