Thank you for this thread. I am a new G35 owner, and this is the first thing I've done to make this car my own. I just did my grille yesterday. It looks great, thanks to this thread.

This is how i did my grille too! worked perfectly. First tried painting it flat black, but it didnt go well with a black car. It looked much better when i painted it gloss black afterwards

I did this some months ago and was going to go a car show/bbq here in UT yesterday but decided to add a small coat of paint to the grill to hide some rock chips and blemishes.... and WOW what a disaster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I lightly sanded some of the old paint off and cleaned it then did my light coat just to have the paint get all wrinkled on me, so I sanded and added a coat of primer to it, which immediately got that antique crackled look on it GRRRRR... so I resanded and tried to alternate between a light coat and a heavy coat to try to get any cooperation from it.... and now I went to o'reily and bought a very expensive can of adhesion promoter and I am working on getting all of the paint and primer off to start all over again.
and I missed my small show/bbq I was pretty ticked off.
anyways that's been my experience with trying to do a light recoat. maybe I should try the plasti-dip stuff.
sorry to vent.

What was the best way you figured out how to take off the grill? I noticed they have like these plastic square nuts that need to turn a certain direction for it to come off it seems like it will be a pain to get back on.
Thanks
