So it was coming along great, the flat black looked sweet. Got the last coat of black on about 3 hours ago. I'm guessing I should have let the color cure alot longer, but I got impatient. I started spraying clear, the first coat looked fine. I waited 10 minutes and sprayed another coat of clear. I'm now noticing a number of areas are turning gray...
I'm no painter, but I'm guessing the clear is mixing with the black? And I'm assuming I now get to wait for the clear to dry so I can sand it off and spray black again?
Any help would be greatly appretiated!!

-Edit-
Looks like as it's drying its returning to black, there is only 1 spot that's still gray... Not sure if I should let this coat sit a bit longer and see if the rest disapears, or just spray the next coat....

just did this today. i also got impatient (bout 5 min between coats. semi warm and windy so it dried decent) had to do it outside so it looks like some dirt may have stuck to the paint, and one spot bubbled and i dried to wipe it off then sand it off...didnt work. however, im a rookie at this stuff and the car is not a show car so it works for me. good DIY write up.

What paint did you use? I see some cars (not just pics, but in real life) have a really really glossy black, even though I bought the glossy duplicolor black myself..., but it isnt as glossy as some people's

Gloss paint with a bunch of coats of clear on top maybe might help you achieve that look? Just a guess

Thinking of re-painting mine. 80% of my driving is highway and it has chips here and there.
Do i have to re-sand the whole thing, primer, paint e.t.c.? Or can I just start painting all over it just like that then clear coat again?

sand it down, if you paint over it then the chips will show through.
