That is really cool of you to take the time to take pics and share the info. Looks like it might be tough for me. I am going to try and paint it without taking it off my car. What kind of tape should I use so it doesn't pull of my paint when I newspaper my car?

Its going to be more complicated to paint it whitout removing it. But you need painters tape (blue), and make sure u put newspaper or something behind the grill so u dont end up painting the internals.

You were right. It was very easy to take off. Almost too easy. I used 120 grit and ended up sanding too much. I left some deep lines. I went to 400, then used 1000. I wanted Gloss Black like the picture a few pages back. I might bite the bullet and just take it to a body shop. Thank you very much for offering your help.

Yeah i decided that i will black it out instead of paint to match, i m doing my roof black soon as well, so it should come together nicely

Just cleaned the paint gun, should be a good night to lay some black & clear down on the grill

It'll be rough feeling for a week or so, it'll kind of smooth out on it's own.

I did 2 light coats, and then 2 heavy coats. But I would do 3 or 4 medium coats and you'll be fine

No problem fellas, I've painted mine twice and did a couple of my buddies so i know what im doing at this point... I'm also getting my roof overlaid black, and tinting my headslights/taillights/clear corners to almost blacked out... I'm hoping to accomplish all this in one month, so as soon as its done ill post picture for the rest of you guys with IPs

I didn't know they sold clear Plasti-Dip. This may be a good idea for better durability.
