This thread should get bumped weekly. Seat height is a huge issue for lots of people on this board (tall or sporty) and this is an extremely helpful "fix".
I did this DIY and it worked great. Lowered me a noticeable amount to where it's pretty close to perfect.
My tips:
1. The pics and everything in this thread are very helpful, but it's all really logical. Stick your head under the seat and put the seat up and down a couple times - you'll quickly see the area and spot the simple adjustment (just moving that "stopper nut" back a bit more)
2. The back wasn't that tough but the front was - it's really tough to get in there. I took off the plastic below the seat (just under your knees) and temporarily moved a seat motor that was taped down. With all this I was just able to adjust the front nut using a small pair for vice grips.
Now that I'm not driving on a bar stool anymore, how do get the tilt steering to go lower so I don't feel like a bus driver?!

Just did this.
Made a substantial difference.
My tips to add.
Obviously start with the seat as high as it can go.
Like stated take off that U bracket underneath the back of the drivers side (12mm gold nut)
I used a small adjustable pliers for the first 1 or 2 turns, then I put on my Mechanix gloves and turned it by hand the rest of the way forward.
Same thing in the front of the seat.
Take off the plastic trim piece(2 screws)
I cut the electrical tape holding the white plug to the black box
Turned the nut 1 or 2 rotations with pliers and the rest of the way wearing gloves.(turn the front towards the back of the seat, opposite what you did at the back of the seat)
The front is a lot harder to get at with pliers/visegrips/needlenose. You end up turning it a very little at a time.

I need the Pictures also!
I'm 6'5 and I really could use anything, so I don't have to do so much gangster leaning anymore.

I've owned my G for a year and a half now. Just did this mod tonight and WOW am I regretting not doing this sooner. Almost 6' 4" here and DEFINITELY appreciate the extra headroom.

I know this is an old thread but does anyone know if this mod works on the G37 coupe? I'm 6'6" tall and would like to purchase a G37 coupe but I'm concerned about the headroom on the models with a sunroof (which are most of he ones I see for sale). So if someone could please let me know if they were able to do this to their G37 coupe, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!
Thanks!
