Hey guys,

I'm having trouble removing "the bolt from the base of the strut that runs through the lower control arm" Mine seems pretty snug. I don't have access to air tools and I have tried liquid penetrant

Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Long **** breaker bar should do the trick if you can get it in there. If not if there's a harbor freight by you go buy a corded impact wrench.

Corded impact wrench from harbor freight is what I used for all the bolts. Should come off easy.

Just did my fronts.. I did not have time to do the backs because it was a bitch compressing the new springs. I had to use 4 spring compressors (2 trips to the auto parts ) and my impact wrench and even then it was very hard to compress them. I went with Tein S because is what I had on another car.. the drop is very noticeable
I will attempt the rears this coming weekend and hope that it's easier. I will post photos of the the drop and I'm guessing camber kits will be in my future.

Thanks for this DYI guys...the pictures helped greatly.

I just installed the 350z H-Techs on my '06 6MT last week with a friend and it turned out and she looks great!
I found that the fronts where not difficult at all other than compressing the springs take a LOT of time. Other than that, if you use PB Blaster in the center strut bolt prior to removal and let it sit, its quite easy (mine is not winter driven thus no rust probably helped a lot). Definitely recommend an impact gun for removing some bolts (caliper and top strut bolts)
The backs where for the most part easy other than removing the caliper bolts...due to how small area back there, I couldn't get use my impact gun to remove the bolts and it was a major B!@TCH!!

NOTE:
Make sure that when you are putting the new springs back on the struts and compressing it, that the center bolt its properly sat or it will spin like mad without actually tightening possibly needing a strut replacement.
I didn't know this (or didn't see it in the DYI) and when I was done, the nut would not tighten. I panicked!!

All in all great time with my buddy and felt great to have done it myself.

I'm going to be replacing my shocks soon and stumbled on your post but I don't see any pictures. I have replaced my springs about 5 years ago to some 350z H-techs and wanted to freshen up on the procedure but the pictures are gone. =(

EDIT: I can see them by clicking on the images one by one.
