Weird Sound From Rear passenger brake....

When rolling foward if i apply the brakes pretty firmly, nothing to hard, i hear this loud click that seems to be coming from the passenger rear brake. Almost like the pads grabbing down on the rotor, or the clunk noise a transmission makes when being put into gear sometimes.

Ive never heard it before, is this normal, what does it mean.

My brakes are brembo's btw

Is it a continuous click? That's what I have. I've been told my rear rotors need to be changed.

its not continuous, only when the brakes are applied, it also makes this noise on bumps, i always thought it was my suspension but its like my pads are banging around or something

That's what I meant. A constant clicking sound when you apply the brakes. Definitely your rotors. If they are warped, you need to replace them.

sounds like a metallic "clap"? it's nothing. It's just your pad clapping onto the rotor.

It's recomended that you get your rotors cut (within tolerences) or replace them entirely.

There should be no guessing involved with brake jobs. If the rotors are smooth (not scored) perform a thickness check and a runout check using the appropriate gauges.

If they are too warn already, you cannot have them turned. If the runout is excessive (warped rotors), they could perhaps be turned with an on-wheel lathe.

If the thickness and runout are OK, then just replace the pads and do a careful and thorough bedding in.
