I am thinking about these two optioins to lower my car even more, currently I'm on g35 sport shocks with 350z unrevised springs. I want to drop it even more because the gap is still a little to much for me.

The reason I'm trying to decide between the two is because obviously the S techs would be the cheaper route but I'm worried about the shocks going out if I don't replace them.

I like the adjustability of the basics but I've read that it provides a much harsher ride.

Which ride would be worse the S. tech's or the Basics? Would I even notice the difference in ride quality since I'm already dropped on 350z springs?

Tanabe Sustec PRO S-OC Type II Coilovers I'm also considering these because a member is selling them on the forum and they said that the ride quality is better than basics but I can't find the adjustment heights for these coilovers. I don't want them to slam my sedan.

im in ur same exact situation, and im wondering the same things

 

After about almost 2 years of driving with my Espelir springs on my oem shocks, the ride became really bouncy due to the shocks going out. I got some Tein Basics installed about a month ago and it was a night and day difference. I noticed how much stiffer my ride was which I liked but really didn't notice the harshness of the Basics that some people here talk about as I liked them way more than I did with my springs and oem shocks. If your on a budget, I think the Basics are the way to go if you want coilovers. I guess when it comes down to situations like this it's to each their own.

 

Thanks for the input did you notice a difference since you were already dropped before the basics? I'm guessing since I'm already dropped that the stiffness from the basics wouldn't be as noticeable. More input guys??

I just put on the basics about 3 weeks ago, wasn't dropped before, and had the oem non-sport suspension. The ride on basics is a little stiffer, and only really noticable on horrible roads. Otherwise the handling is greatly improved and the ride is very tolerable - my gf didn't even notice the difference. The car feels a lot tighter in the turns now, and the height adjustment is cool to have - so far I love em.

 

Lower springs = drop oriented... still gains some performance from the lower center of gravity

Coilovers = performance oriented... with a drop

If looks is all you're after, the S-Techs should be more than enough. The Basics should have a stiffer ride than the S-techs.

Since you got rwd, why not consider the s-tech with some d-specs.

 

with that combo it should cost about the same as the basics? I'm not to sure cause I haven't looked at the d specs yet.
