Brake difference (03-07)?

I'm looking at brakes on racingbrake.com and I'm a little confused.

They have the years set up:
03-04 (Non Brembo/Brembo)
05-07 (Non sport)

I assume they are referring to the sport suspension package? I have the sport with the 19's.

What is the difference between the 03-04 (non brembo) brakes and my 05?
What is teh difference between the 05-07 sport and non sport? -and-
Why isnt there a category for the sport, what works?

I believe the 05-07 non Brembo brakes are a bit bigger than the 03-40 non Brembo brakes. When they reffer to sport they are reffering to the suspension and a few other goodies like the lip kit and mud/splash gaurds.

I exchanged my 04 brakes for the 05-07 set-up. The 05-07 front rotors are 12.6"x1.1" and the rears are 12.0"x0.6". The 03-04 front rotors 11.6"x0.9" and the rears are 11.5"x0.6".

When you switched from the 04 to the 05-07 set-up did you just change the rotors or did you have to change the brackets as well so that the calipers would fit right? I assume everything had to be changed, correct?

ok i understand. But what works for my car? Why isnt there anything listed for the sport? Or are they the same size as the "non sport"?

Yes, there is a size difference in the rotors (03-04 are smaller and thinner) and the calipers are different too. The front caliper went from a single piston for 03-04 to two pistons for 05-06 sedans and 05-07 coupes. The G35X didn't get the larger rotors and new calipers until 06.

The Brembos were only available on 03-04 6mt's.

ok, I guess its safe to assume that all the brakes from 05-07 are the same size. Correct? I just need to get some new brakes and for them to fit right.

Yes, the 05-07 are the same size, but many parts places don't know that or don't know the difference. Make sure the parts place know that and if you buy locally, take the old parts in to compare with the new parts.

My buddy and I went to 3 local auto parts stores to find pads for his 05 and we were given the wron pads each time. One store even gave us pads for the Brembo rotors.

There is no sport or Brembo brake system for 05-07. You will need the brackets for the 05-07 calipers. I puchased the premium rotors and stainless steel brake lines from R1 Concepts.
