Guys with BC coilovers - need help!!

how do you know if your preload if off in the front? im on bc's also

the rear is maxed out however i spoke with SFLg35 and he told me, for the rear you can take off one of the rings and also get shorter springs these come with 200mm springs u can get 180 mm ones, for the front there is PLENTY of room left u can put it on the ground pretty much, but as for now i already have trouble getting into a lot of driveways.. ftl lol

yah np my only complaint is that the ride quality was not what i expected, yah im pretty low to the ground but compared with coilovers in the same price range, ie function and form, the ride quality is pretty bumpy, and im considering getting function and forms later during the year if i decide to be at this height

if you want something more soft, get some tein cs.

^^yah i heard about those, i wus referring to f&f cus shanesg uses them and hes pretty darn low and he says ride quality is nice

Sorry to bring back an old thread but i need help with my coilovers

So, i want my car to be low, and so i took off one of the rings in the spring. Also i lowered the shockbody all the way down.

Alright, im no expert, but i heard in order to correctly install these springs, i should check if there is enough shock travel so that the shocks down bottom out before reaching the help of the springs. SO, i put my wheels on, and jacked it up...then the car started lifting up before it actually reached the fender. Now, what im wondering is how people can order the shorter springs and not bottom out their shocks?

you took one of the rings off? front or rear? your probably gonna mess up your spring load if you did that.

it was the locking ring on the rear spring bucket.

u can take off 1 ring in the rear, u can also get shorter springs, 180mm instead of 200, pm SFLG35 i believe he can help u out there

I got them installed this weekend and I gotta say that I'm pretty happy thus far. I set everything to 12 clicks down from the hardest setting and the ride is firm but far more comfortable than the Teins. No clicking, squeaking or clunking. Gonna give it a few days to settle then go get it aligned. My intial impression is that it's a really an amazing setup for the money. Wish they were around 4 years ago.

i just installed mine (gen 2) on a 06 sedan. im actually maxed out on the HIGHEST setting in the rear. i didnt want to go too low (because of roll center and front camber), and im out of thread on one side in the rear. theyre still almost tucked tho the new springs are 230mm springs (in lieu of the old gold base).


--everythings great so far. no clunking..i just wish the rear springs were longer for the sedan. these were definitely designed for the Z33.

wuut? 230mm mine are 200mm if you need shorter ones you can get 180mm

this is the second gen. with the conical springs. and i need LONGER springs not shorter springs.

you mean second gen sedan? or coupe? and why would you need LONGER springs?

i saw you dont want to be too low but.. why buy coilovers and not want to be low? unless you're tracking it
