Yeah, no rust proofing needed here in Cali. Glad to hear that the cleaning might of fixed the issue for you. I'll get around to it soon....hopefully. I've already tried the obvious stuff (low pads/rotors, fluid, alignment).

Sensors cleaned, fuses are good. Time to get an OBD II scanner and get me some codes. I think I have a bad speed sensor somewhere

This happened to me a week ago, It seems to me that as soon as I swapped my winter tires for my summer tires, All 3 lights came on. What happened was that the rears were the right sizes (thick) but the two fronts were completely two difference sizes and were lowpros almost bald and had no tread left. I noticed that the dealership installed the wrong tire sizes and swapped them for the right ones right away because I was having braking problems. After the tires had been swapped to the appropriate size, all the lights disappeared..

hope this helped

What I would do from experience is this... Park the car and turn it off. Pop the hood and disconnect both positive and negative terminals from the battery for about 20 min. This gives the ecu time to reset itself and attempt to relearn or accept the new tire size. If problem still persists, open the master cylinder and check the brake fluid level. If the level is a tadd under the max marker it has been determined to make all three lights to come on. Last resorts are pretty straight forward... Have a look through the front of your calipers to see the ware on your brake pads... If there waring down just replace them. Lastly I'd check and clean all the speed sensors (4). Worse comes to worse get a scanner that reads brake system componets and take it from there. Good luck

I've installed new front Brake pads (much needed) resurfaced my rotors as well as making sure brake fluid is up to par. Anyone with any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

My same problem!!! After switching to after market wheels!

I believe you to most likely be correct. If one would think about it the slip and VDC require a proper amount of fluid to operate if I'm not mistaken. That would explain why the vDC shuts off and I am able to go sideways at will without hitting the fun button. That being said though, I have noticed only at ambient temperature of less than 55 degrees does mine come on. Any how, pads and rotors are on the way tomorrow and I will check fluid also. I know I need brakes because a squeaky noise at city traffic speed is telling me so. I will post results later.

Guys I have been reading about these issues for 2months now. It appears that it could be a lot of different things from speed sensors, low fluid, brake pads, etc.

My 2003 G35 with 197,000 just started doing this 2 months ago.
For a few months before the lights would randomly come on but after restart they wouldn't appear for a while. For two months now they are always there.
BTW, I did pull the code the ECU, C1142 - Pressure Sensor System

For everyone that does have this issue, can you check this and report.

1.)Turn your key to the ON position, but don't start the car.......... Do these three lights appear right away?
2.) Also, press and hold the brake before starting the car, hold the brake for a while and see if the lights come on. Then if still no lights, let the brake go.. Do these lights turn on now?

Please check and report.

Thanks,
Tom

VDC lights

My issue was the same as above. Replaced front pads and rotors and rear pads only, lights gone and not returning.

Well, based on the code pulled, it could be the pressure sensor. Too bad that on the G35, the pressure sensor is the whole ABS pump system as defined by the service manual.

After reading all the procedures about troubleshooting this, the service manual advised one needs to replace the whole ABS pump (VDC actuator) to fix this issue.

I have been looking at the damn thing and there is actually a bosch pressure sensor sticking out of the unit. It appears that a lot of cars use the same exact pressure sensor and it costs about $120 ...........

Why is there no mentioning of this specific sensor in the service manual? It only talks about the whole system including the ABS pump.

The question I guess would be, if the car is complaining about the pressure sensor could I just replace this one bosch sensor and start there instead of replacing the whole abs unit?

Problem fixed!!!!

In case anyone here cares, I was finally able to fix the problem.
After checking everything I could based on the service manual, it looked like I would need to replace the ABS pump/pressure sensor/actuator.

When I put the car back together last night and the G35 was still getting the three lights and still getting a code C1142 in the computer I was pissed.

I turned the car on , and the lights are there. Out of frustration I pumped the brake pedal very quickly about 15-20 times. After I restarted the car the lights were done.
Drove the car to check if the VDC worked and it it did. Also tried to brake hard to check ABS and they did work as well. This morning everything is still working right. 30 miles commute to work and everything is still working.

So this happened to me also today on the way to work. So I am going to first check the fluid and then check the fuse, lastly will check the sensor. May also have my buddy pull the code but I hope this is nothing major Car has just over 169,000 miles so I guess things do break down.

Update:
Came back to the car after workday finished and heard a noise from the engine bay, turns out the ABS pump had been running whilst the car was off for 9 hours Battery was dead so got a jump start and drove to my mechanic, disconnected battery for a minute and then drove around the block, all lights turned off.

Read over on my350z that this happens when the pads or rotors are worn and the sensor locks up on one side sooner than the other, I just last week had my front rotors turned so I think it may be time to replace them or the pads.

In the meantime I now check to make sure the ABS pump is not running after I shut the car down.

Its been a while since i posted but i did sove the problem. for me it wasnt the brake system itself i had some cheap tires put on the back untill i could buy brand new tires and they were the wrong size. this was throwing off the wheel speed sensor and causeing all of these lights to go off and cut off my abs traction system. should have know it started right after i got the new tires...once i got the correct size everything is back to normal...just to let yall know that is one way these lights can come one i havent seen anyone identify in fourms yet.
